Advantech WISE-2410-EB – LoRaWAN vibration sensor for machine condition monitoring

Advantech WISE-2410-EB is a wireless vibration sensor designed for condition monitoring of rotating machinery. The device combines a three-axis accelerometer, temperature sensor and LoRaWAN communication, allowing it to operate as a standalone Condition Monitoring point without signal cabling.

The sensor performs part of the calculations directly on the device and can transmit eight characteristic vibration values, including VRMS, ARMS, Peak, Displacement, Kurtosis, Crest Factor, Skewness and Standard Deviation. This reduces the amount of raw data sent over the radio network.

The IP66enclosure, battery power and an operating range extending to -20~80°C allow WISE-2410 to be installed directly on machines where conventional vibration-sensor cabling would be costly or inconvenient.

Diagnostic parameters calculated directly on the device

WISE-2410 measures vibration over the frequency range 5–1000 Hz and offers selectable amplitude ranges of ±2 g, ±4 g, ±8 g and ±16 g. The accelerometer output data rate is 6600 Hz.

The manufacturer references an approach aligned with ISO 10816 for machine-vibration assessment. The sensor can therefore support systems for early detection of changes in mechanical condition, such as imbalance, looseness, bearing problems or misalignment – interpretation of the root cause remains with the diagnostic system and user.

Quickly add a measurement point to an existing machine

The sensor is powered by two 3.6 V AA batteries and does not require wired communication. It can therefore be added to an existing machine without modifying cable routes or installing an additional measurement box.

Configuration is performed with WISE Studio. Mounting accessories are available, including a magnet and metal base, making it easier to adapt the installation method to the machine.
