Advantech EVA-2510-EA – battery-powered LoRaWAN water leak sensor
Advantech EVA-2510-EA is a wireless sensor designed to detect water in areas at risk of flooding. The device uses LoRaWAN, allowing alarms and data to be transmitted to the supervisory system without a wired communication network.
The sensor works with a detection cable approximately 3.5 mmin diameter. The solution is designed for rapid deployment in technical rooms, server rooms, warehouses and near water systems, air-conditioning equipment and devices whose failure could cause a leak.
Two 3.6 V AA batteries provide up to approximately 5 years of operation at 25°C with a 15-minute interval. The EA variant operates in the European LoRaWAN EU 863–870 MHzband.
Continuous supervision of locations where even a small leak can cause damage
EVA-2510 moves leak detection from a local indication into a centralized monitoring system. Once information is received over LoRaWAN, the supervisory application can alert personnel, log the event or trigger a response procedure.
This is especially important in unattended rooms, where the time between water appearing and the issue being noticed can determine the extent of the damage.
Monitoring areas exposed to flooding and condensation
- server rooms and IT rooms,
- switchgear rooms and technical rooms,
- areas around fan-coil units, air conditioners and HVAC systems,
- spaces near pipelines, valves and tanks,
- warehouses and archives,
- distributed alarm systems in buildings and industrial facilities.
No power supply and no wired alarm bus
Battery power and LoRaWAN allow the sensor to be placed where leak risk is highest, rather than only where power and communication cables are available.
The device operates at ambient temperatures from -20 to 55°C. When designing the system, an appropriate LoRaWAN gateway for the EU868 band should be provided and the alarm-handling method configured in the supervisory application.

Early water alarm in distributed technical rooms
EVA-2510-EA extends monitoring to locations where expanding a traditional wired detection system would be difficult. The combination of battery power and LoRaWAN makes it quick to add additional flood-protection points in an existing facility.
