Advantech EVA-2311-EA – wireless temperature measurement from -70 to 200°C
Advantech EVA-2311-EA is a battery-powered LoRaWAN temperature sensor equipped with an external PT1000 probe with a round head. The wide detection range from -70 to 200°C enables monitoring of processes and locations where a standard ambient-temperature sensor is not sufficient.
The measuring probe has an IP67rating, allowing it to operate in environments exposed to moisture and contamination. The manufacturer specifies measurement accuracy of approximately ±0.8°C.
The EA variant uses the LoRaWAN EU 863–870 MHzband. Power from two 3.6 V AA batteries provides up to approximately 5 years of operation at 25°C with a 15-minute reporting interval.
PT1000 for measurements beyond the range of standard environmental sensors
EVA-2311 is designed for applications that require measuring the temperature of the medium, a surface or a process element rather than only the air temperature near the device. The external PT1000 probe separates the measurement location from the radio module.
The -70 to 200°C range supports applications at both low temperatures and on hot process elements. Data can then be archived and analyzed in the supervisory system, with alarms implemented at the application level.
Remote temperature measurement with an external probe
- monitoring pipelines, tanks and equipment surfaces,
- temperature measurement in refrigeration and low-temperature zones,
- monitoring warmer process elements up to 200°C,
- technical installations where electronics should not be located directly at the measurement point,
- distributed temperature points without a wired communication network,
- Industrial IoT and temperature-alarm systems.
Measurement in a difficult location, transmission from a convenient location
Using an external probe allows the sensing element to be placed exactly where the temperature of interest occurs, while the LoRaWAN module can be installed in a location that is more convenient for servicing and radio propagation.
The device electronics themselves operate over an ambient-temperature range of -20~55°C, while the -70~200°C range applies to the temperature probe.

Wide temperature range without wired communication infrastructure
EVA-2311-EA combines an industrial PT1000 element with long-range LoRaWAN communication. It is designed for points that require a wide temperature range and flexible probe placement without running a communication cable back to the supervisory system.
