Four reasons to choose it
Two connection methods
Modbus RTU 485 for gas meters with a digital output or pulse input for meters with a simple pulse output — the same cabinet supports both.
Remote reading without visits
Data is transmitted automatically via LoRaWAN — no manual meter reading on site.
One cabinet, multiple meters
Digital inputs and an RS-485 port allow several gas meters to be connected to a single IoTS Node Cabinet.
Flexible deployment
Data can be kept locally at the facility (ITS Edge Cabinet) or centrally in the cloud (ITS Cloud) — choose the architecture that fits your organization.
What is included in the solution
- IoTS Node Cabinet — I/O optionField cabinet with an RS-485 port (Modbus RTU) and digital inputs (DI) for pulse reading — reads data directly from gas meters and transmits it via LoRaWAN.
- LoRaWAN gatewayReceives data from the IoTS Node Cabinet and forwards it — to ITS Edge Cabinet or ITS Cloud, depending on the selected option.
- ITS Edge Cabinet — basic version option 1Local, fully self-contained ITS platform instance — data remains on site.
- ITS Cloud option 2Central cloud instance of the ITS platform — one dashboard for multiple facilities or locations at the same time.
The connection method — Modbus RTU or pulse input — depends on the gas meter model already installed at the facility. The meter does not need to be replaced to enable remote reading.
How it works — two deployment options
The same IoTS Node Cabinet and the same LoRaWAN gateway — only the data destination changes.
IoTS Node Cabinet reads data from gas meters via Modbus RTU 485 or pulse input and transmits it via LoRaWAN to a gateway installed on site. The gateway forwards the data over Ethernet to the ITS Edge Cabinet in the basic version — the entire ITS platform instance operates locally, without an internet connection.
Instead of connecting to a local cabinet, the same LoRaWAN gateway connects via GSM/LTE directly to ITS Cloud. Data from multiple facilities is sent to one shared platform instance — the central team sees gas consumption from all locations in a single dashboard.
| POINT | CONNECTION | STATUS |

| Boiler room B | Modbus RTU | online |
| Building C | pulse input | online |
| Building D | pulse input | online |

Where it works best
Boiler rooms and heat substations
Real-time monitoring of gas consumption in boiler rooms serving buildings or complexes.
Multi-family residential buildings
Remote reading of gas meters in basements and utility rooms without meter-reader visits.
Industrial plants
Monitoring gas consumption in production processes and comparing it with consumption benchmarks.
Commercial facilities
Monitoring energy costs in office buildings, shopping centers and other large facilities.
Distributed locations
Centralized consumption view from multiple buildings through a single ITS Cloud system.
Energy audits
Historical data for consumption analysis, period comparisons and cost optimization.
No manual gas meter readings
- Manual gas meter readings
- Physical access to the meter required
- Data available only periodically
- No shared history across multiple facilities
- Manual report preparation
- Automatic reading via LoRaWAN
- Supports Modbus RTU and pulse input
- Consumption history available continuously
- Local or centralized option
- Data ready for reporting and analysis
