IMI NEON Vibration Sensor Ex – wireless machine diagnostics
IMI NEON Vibration Sensor Ex is an industrial, three-axis vibration sensor designed for remote condition monitoring of rotating machinery and equipment.
The sensor enables vibration analysis across a wide frequency range from 0.5 Hz to 6.66 kHz, allowing it to support the detection of both slow-changing mechanical phenomena and problems occurring in higher frequency bands.
LoRaWAN communication allows measurement data to be transmitted wirelessly to the central monitoring system. The NEON Ex variant is designed for operation in Zone 0.
One sensor – multiple types of faults
The wide measurement range of the NEON Vibration Sensor allows the device to be used for analysing many typical problems occurring in rotating machinery and equipment.
- bearing damage,
- misalignment,
- mechanical looseness,
- structural vibrations,
- cavitation,
- bearing wear and lubrication problems.
Spectrum analysis directly on the device
NEON Vibration Sensor uses advanced algorithms that enable automatic spectrum analysis directly on the device. The sensor can classify typical faults and analyse harmonics and statistical data.
The manufacturer indicates the possibility of identifying, among others, bearing damage, misalignment and looseness. The full FFT spectrum can also be retrieved via the network infrastructure.
Early detection of technical problems
Vibration monitoring provides information about the current technical condition of equipment and can support maintenance strategies based on the actual condition of the machine.
According to the manufacturer, the use of the NEON Vibration Sensor can help reduce downtime, improve safety and provide faster access to information about maintenance conditions.
Monitoring of rotating machinery and equipment
- electric motors,
- pumps,
- fans,
- bearings and bearing assemblies,
- rotating machines and systems,
- predictive monitoring and Condition Based Monitoring,
- Industrial IoT systems in Ex zones.
