Milesight VS361 is a compact pedestrian traffic sensor designed to monitor traffic in front of storefronts, in passageways and other circulation points. It uses Diffuse Reflective technology and 940 nm infrared light, allowing the detection range to be adjusted from 1–9 m.
The device has an NPN open-collector output for integration with DI inputs of counting systems or routers, power supply via 802.3af PoE or 12–60 V DC and an IP65enclosure. VS361 can be part of a system for analyzing customer traffic and store entry conversion rates.

Milesight VS361 is a pedestrian traffic sensor using reflective photoelectric detection technology to detect people passing through the monitored area.
The device emits 940 nm infrared light and analyzes its reflection from passing objects. The adjustable detection range from 1 to 9 meters allows the sensor to be adapted to different storefront widths and passageways.
VS361 is designed primarily for analyzing traffic in front of stores. Combined with Milesight indoor people counters, it can provide data needed to determine the relationship between the number of passers-by and the number of people entering a facility.

Reflective photoelectric detection
VS361 uses Diffuse Reflective technology. The sensor emits infrared radiation and detects its reflection from a person within the detection area.
The solution does not require a second transmitter or receiver to be installed on the opposite side of the passageway, simplifying installation.
Adjustable range from 1 to 9 meters
The sensor range can be adjusted from 1 to 9 meters using the knob located on the device.
This allows the detection area to be adapted to a specific storefront, passageway or other installation location without software configuration of the sensor.
Potential customer traffic analysis
VS361 can monitor people passing in front of a store entrance or storefront.
This data can be combined with information from indoor people counters such as VS12X or VS13X series devices to analyze the store entry conversion rate.

NPN open-collector output to DI input
VS361 does not have its own LoRaWAN or Ethernet interface for data transmission.
Detection information is provided via a digital NPN open-collector output, which can be connected to the DI input of a compatible device, such as a router or counting system.
When an object is detected, the device outputs a low signal. When no object is detected, the output is high.
RJ45 port is used only for PoE power
The RJ45 connector on VS361 is not an Ethernet communication interface.
The manufacturer explicitly specifies it as a PoE PD input used solely to power the device. The port does not transmit or receive network data.
PoE 802.3af or wide-range 12–60 V DC
VS361 can be powered in two ways, simplifying installation in both new and existing facilities.
Standard PoE allows power to be supplied over a network cable, while direct DC power is an alternative.
IR detection indicator for easier adjustment
A built-in LED indicator signals when an object is detected by the sensor.
This makes it easier to set the correct range during installation and quickly verify sensor operation without additional tools.
Installation on a wall, storefront or structure
The manufacturer specifies mounting the device at a height of 0.7 to 1.2 m.
The included bracket allows the sensor to be installed using screws or adhesive mounting on suitable smooth surfaces such as glass or metal.
During installation, direct sunlight, other strong infrared sources and obstacles in the detection path should be avoided.
