WT401 — Flexible HVAC Control Without the Limitations of Traditional Wiring
Milesight WT401 is a smart LoRaWAN thermostat designed to control heating, cooling, and ventilation in modern HVAC systems.
The wireless design allows the thermostat to be positioned in the optimal location in the room, regardless of existing wiring. Built-in temperature, humidity, and PIR occupancy sensors provide the data needed to automatically maintain comfortable conditions and reduce unnecessary energy consumption.
Comfort, Automation and Flexible Installation
Wireless Installation
Battery power and LoRaWAN communication allow the thermostat to be installed without running new communication wiring.
PIR up to 6 m
The built-in occupancy sensor allows HVAC operation to be adapted to actual room use.
8 operating plans
Local schedules enable automatic temperature adjustment according to the time of day, usage pattern, and facility requirements.
Where Can the WT401 Be Used?
Compatibility with Different Heating and Cooling Systems
The WT401 can work with HVAC systems via LoRaWAN and a supervisory system or compatible Milesight HVAC controllers.
The manufacturer provides for use of the thermostat with PTAC systems, boilers, furnaces, heat pumps, and radiators working with Milesight WT101 or WT102 thermostats, among others.
Control Adapted to the HVAC Installation
* Availability of individual temperature and fan control modes depends on the connected HVAC system or controller.
Precise CMOSens® Temperature Sensor
Environmental Comfort Monitoring
Automatic Energy Savings with PIR
Occupancy information can be used to automatically change the HVAC control strategy. This helps reduce heating or cooling in unused rooms.
2,7-inch E-Ink Display and Five Buttons
E-Ink 2,7"
The clear display shows the current temperature, humidity, and HVAC system operating status.
5 Buttons
The user can locally change the temperature, system mode, fan mode, and other available settings.
Customisation
Button functions can be customised, while Child Lock restricts unauthorised setting changes.
Up to 8 Local Temperature Control Plans
The WT401 allows up to eight operating plans to be programmed, enabling the temperature to be automatically adjusted for different times or room usage patterns.
The schedule operates locally, allowing the basic control strategy to be executed without a continuous connection to the supervisory platform.
Thermostat Designed for Centralised Management
Multicast
Makes it easier to send commands simultaneously to a larger group of devices in extensive installations.
FUOTA
Firmware Update Over-the-Air enables remote firmware updates for the device.
External Sensor Mode
The thermostat can use data from an external temperature source, depending on the system configuration.
NFC, Bluetooth 5.0 and LoRaWAN Downlink
Local configuration can be performed using the Milesight ToolBox app via NFC or Bluetooth 5.0.
Device parameters can also be changed remotely via LoRaWAN downlink messages, making larger deployments easier to manage.
Batteries, USB-C, 24 V or PowerBus
2 × 2700 mAh
Two replaceable ER14505 batteries enable completely wireless installation.
USB-C 5 V
The USB Type-C port can be used as an alternative power source or console port.
24 V
24 V AC/DC power is also available via a two-pin connector, as well as PowerBus with a compatible Milesight controller.
The individual power supply methods should not be used simultaneously.
Communication, Power Supply and Design
* The manufacturer specifies approximately 5 years of operation in Class A mode at SF7 and approximately 3 years at SF10 with a 10-minute reporting interval. In Class C mode, battery life is approximately 25 days. Actual battery life depends on configuration and communication conditions.
WT401 in a Smart HVAC Control System
Temperature, humidity, occupancy, and thermostat setpoint information can be transmitted via LoRaWAN to a central building management platform.
