Milesight WS156-868M — 6-button LoRaWAN® scene panel with E-Ink display
Milesight WS156-868M is a wireless control panel designed for quickly launching scenes and building-automation functions via LoRaWAN® and Milesight D2D.
The panel features 6 programmable buttons, which can represent six different scenes, such as starting a meeting, presentation mode, leaving the room, or controlling lighting, air conditioning or blinds.
Integrated 2,9-inch E-Ink display allows custom icons and descriptions to be displayed, so button functions can be clearly tailored to a particular room and usage scenario.
Six scenes available directly from one panel
6 scene buttons
Each button can be assigned to a different function or automation scene.
E-Ink 2,9"
The customisable display allows custom icons and descriptions corresponding to individual buttons to be shown.
LoRaWAN® + D2D
Each button can independently use LoRaWAN® communication or direct Milesight D2D communication.
Fast scene control in smart buildings
One panel for controlling multiple room functions
WS156 has 6 separate scene buttons, allowing users to launch preconfigured actions with a single press.
Each button can be used independently, enabling the panel to control both individual devices and complex scenarios involving several automation elements.
An example scene can simultaneously change the state of lighting, air conditioning, blinds or other compatible system devices.
2,9 inches and full label personalisation capability
The central part of WS156 is a 2,9-inch black-and-white E-Ink display with a resolution of 128 × 296 pixelsfunction.
The manufacturer allows the display content to be customised by uploading a prepared image, so custom icons, symbols, scene names or site-specific labels can be used.
This allows the panel to be prepared, for example, for a conference room, hotel room or office without requiring physical labels beside the buttons.
Each button can use LoRaWAN® or Milesight D2D
One of the key functions of WS156 is the ability to independently define how each of the six buttons operates.
An individual button can operate via LoRaWAN® and send an event to the gateway and higher-level system, or use Milesight D2D to directly control compatible devices.
This allows centrally managed IoT platform scenes to be combined in one panel with local dependencies requiring a shorter communication path.
Device control without a LoRaWAN® gateway
WS156 can operate as a Milesight D2D Controllerfunction.
Milesight D2D technology uses LoRa® communication to exchange commands directly between compatible Milesight devices without routing the message through a LoRaWAN® gateway.
The function is particularly useful in scenarios requiring a local response, such as direct control of lighting, blinds or other actuators.
One button can control multiple devices
In Milesight D2D mode, a single command sent by WS156 can be received by multiple D2D Agent devicesfunction.
This allows a single scene button to simultaneously control several room elements, such as multiple lighting circuits or a group of other compatible devices.
Communication in the European EU868 band
Variant 868M supports, among others, the European frequency plan EU868, as well as RU864 and IN865.
The maximum transmit power at 868 MHz is 16 dBm, while receiver sensitivity reaches −137 dBmfunction.
WS156 operates as a LoRaWAN® OTAA/ABP Class A and is compatible with standard LoRaWAN® gateways and network servers.
Internal LoRaWAN® antenna
WS156 uses internal antenna, so no additional antenna installation or antenna cable is required.
The entire radio module fits inside the slim panel enclosure, helping maintain an aesthetically pleasing appearance in office and commercial spaces.
2 replaceable CR2450 590 mAh batteries
The panel is powered by 2 CR2450 lithium batteries with a capacity of 590 mAh eachfunction.
According to the manufacturer, battery life can exceed 3 years with an interval of 1080 minutes, 20 button presses per day and a temperature of 25°C.
The declared lifetime was determined under laboratory conditions and should be treated as indicative, depending on the actual configuration and usage.
Milesight ToolBox and configuration via downlink
WS156 can be configured wirelessly via NFC and the Milesight ToolBox appfunction.
By bringing a compatible smartphone close to the device, it can be activated, its parameters read and configuration entered without using a wired service interface.
The manufacturer also provides the ability to change settings via LoRaWAN® Downlinkfunction.
On a wall, 86 mm box or surface
WS156 dimensions are 86 × 86 × 14 mm, maintaining a form similar to a conventional wall panel.
The manufacturer provides three installation methods: mounting with 3M double-sided tape, mounting on a type 86 box, or placement on a surfacefunction.
Battery power means the panel does not require power wiring to the installation location.
Panel for indoor applications
The WS156 enclosure is made of white, flame-retardant material PC + ABS and has an ingress protection rating of IP30function.
The device operating temperature range is −10…+50°C. For the E-Ink display, the manufacturer specifies the operating range 0…+50°Cfunction.
The permissible relative humidity is up to 90% RH non-condensingfunction.
