Milesight WS101-868M is a compact, battery-powered LoRaWAN® button designed to trigger scenes, control devices and send events and alarms. Two versions are available: PN: Scene with white button and PN: SOS with red button. The device recognises short press, long press and double press, allowing one button to perform several different functions. The 868M variant supports, among others, the European frequency plan EU868 and operates as a LoRaWAN® OTAA/ABP Class A device.
WS101 also supports Milesight D2D Controller, enabling direct control of compatible devices without using a LoRaWAN® gateway. It has an LED indicator, buzzer and configuration via NFC and the Milesight ToolBox app. Power is supplied by 1 ER14335 Li-SOCl₂ 1650 mAh battery, while the current manufacturer specification declares more than 5 years of operation under specified test conditions. The enclosure measures 50 × 50 × 18 mm, has an IP30 rating and can be mounted using screws, 3M tape or carried on a lanyard.

Milesight WS101-868M is a compact wireless LoRaWAN® button designed to launch scenes, trigger automation, remotely control devices and send events and alarms.
The manufacturer offers two device versions: PN: Scene with white button and PN: SOS with red button. The electronics and basic parameters of both variants remain the same, while the button colour makes it easier to match the device to a specific application.

Scene control and rapid event triggering
Short Press, Long Press and Double Press
WS101 has 1 external button with a diameter of 20 mmfunction.
The device distinguishes three basic action types: short press, long press and double press.
This allows several different commands to be assigned to one device; for example, a single press can launch a scene, a double press can switch a device off, and a long press can send another event to the system.
LED indicator and built-in buzzer
WS101 has built-in LED indicator providing information including device status and events.
Integrated buzzer provides additional audible confirmation, allowing the user to receive local feedback after a specific action is performed.
A separate Reset button is also located inside the enclosure.
Wireless communication in the EU868 band
Variant 868M supports, among others, the European frequency plan EU868, as well as IN865 and RU864.
The maximum transmit power at 868 MHz is 16 dBm, while receiver sensitivity reaches −137 dBm at 300 bpsfunction.
WS101 operates as a OTAA/ABP Class A, corresponding to the characteristics of a low-power battery-operated button that sends short messages after an action.
Up to 2 km in urban areas and 15 km in open space
The manufacturer specifies an indicative transmission range of up to 2 km in urban environments and for 15 km in field conditionsfunction.
Actual range depends on propagation conditions, mounting height, obstacles, LoRaWAN® gateway parameters and radio interference at the installation site.
Direct Control Without a Gateway
WS101 supports the Milesight D2D Controllerfunction.
Milesight D2D technology enables direct communication with compatible Milesight devices without routing every command through a LoRaWAN® gateway and higher-level platform.
The function can be used, for example, for immediate control of a wall switch, socket, controller or other D2D Agent device.
Commissioning and configuration via Milesight ToolBox
WS101 is equipped with NFC, allowing basic device configuration without a wired service interface.
The installer opens the Milesight ToolBox app on a compatible smartphone, activates NFC and brings the phone close to the device.
This makes both initial commissioning and subsequent button parameter changes easier.

WS101 is powered by 1 ER14335 Li-SOCl₂ battery with a capacity of 1650 mAhfunction.
The manufacturer’s current product page declares over 5 years of operation with a reporting interval of 1080 minutes and 10 presses per day.
This value was determined under laboratory conditions and is indicative. Actual operating time depends, among other factors, on the number of presses, radio configuration, signal quality and temperature.
On a wall, 3M tape or lanyard
The compact battery-powered design allows WS101 to be installed without power wiring.
The manufacturer provides for mounting on a flat surface using screws or 3M tapefunction.
