VS340-868M communicates via LoRaWAN EU868 and supports Milesight D2D for direct cooperation with compatible devices. Milesight VS340-868M is a compact wireless occupancy sensor designed for monitoring desks, workstations and seats in offices, libraries and shared spaces.
The device uses a sensitive PIR sensor to detect user presence in a defined area. The manufacturer states occupancy-recognition accuracy of up to 95%.
VS340 has no camera and does not record images. Only occupancy status is transmitted to the higher-level system, making the solution well suited to places where privacy is important.

VS340 uses a PIR sensor to detect movement of a person in the monitored desk or seat area.
With appropriate field-of-view adjustment, the device can focus on a specific workstation and reduce the influence of people at neighboring desks.
Cost-effective version for standard applications
VS340 is the standard version of the VS34x family and uses PIR detection only.
The VS341 model additionally has an IR thermopile, allowing the manufacturer to state higher accuracy of up to 98%. VS340 is intended for typical applications where PIR detection provides sufficient accuracy.
PIR covers for different desk and table types
The VS34x family uses interchangeable PIR covers that limit the detection field and adapt it to the workstation layout.
The solution reduces the risk of detecting people at neighboring desks and focuses the sensor on the selected place.
Occupancy monitoring without cameras
VS340 does not use vision technology. Workstation status is determined based on the PIR sensor.
Occupancy information is transmitted to the system rather than images or data enabling identification of a specific person.
Direct automation without a gateway
VS340 supports Milesight D2D in Controller mode.
This allows occupancy-change information to be transmitted directly to compatible Milesight devices without routing every command through a LoRaWAN gateway.
Energy-efficient occupancy-data transmission
The VS340-868M version operates in the European EU868 band and is compatible with standard LoRaWAN gateways and network servers.
The device operates as LoRaWAN Class A and supports OTAA and ABP activation.
NFC and remote downlink
VS340 can be activated, deactivated and configured locally using a smartphone with NFC and the Milesight ToolBox app.
Device parameters can also be changed remotely using LoRaWAN downlink messages.
