VS125-P — AI Stereo Vision people counter with Ethernet and PoE
Milesight VS125-P is a professional people counter using Binocular Stereo Vision technology and deep learning AI algorithms for precise counting, movement analysis and space-utilization analysis.
Two 4 MP sensors create spatial information that allows the device to recognize people and analyze their movement across configured lines and areas.
VS125-P can be installed at a height from 2.2 to 6 m and achieves a manufacturer-declared counting accuracy of up to 99.8%.
Up to 99.8% accuracy, mounting up to 6 m and PoE
Do 99,8%
Stereo Vision and AI algorithms provide very high people-counting accuracy.
2,2–6 m
A wide mounting-height range allows the device to be adapted to different facilities.
PoE
A single Ethernet cable can provide both data transmission and device power.
Retail Analytics, Smart Building and people-flow analysis
Identical parameters in two housing colors
VS125-P is available in white or black. The White and Black variants have the same optics, communication and functionality.
In this case, the PN designation specifies only the device color.
Two 4 MP sensors and AI spatial analysis
VS125 uses two image sensors with a resolution of 2688 × 1520 px.
Binocular Stereo Vision enables analysis of the spatial position of people and differentiation of actual crossings from other events occurring in the field of view.
Built-in deep learning AI algorithms process data locally and enable advanced People Counting functions.
101° horizontal and 70° vertical
Counting from 0 lx thanks to IR illuminators
Built-in infrared illuminators allow the device to operate even in very low light and complete darkness.
The manufacturer specifies operation at 0 lx, when the IR illuminators are active.
Automatic IR illumination control helps adapt sensor operation to the mounting height and ambient conditions.
Up to 10.44 × 6.02 m when mounted at a height of 6 m
The area covered by VS125 increases with installation height.
At the maximum height of 6 m, the manufacturer specifies a detection area of approximately 10.44 × 6.02 m.
Up to 4 independent detection lines
VS125 allows creation of up to four bidirectional people-counting lines.
The device can independently determine crossing direction, making it possible to analyze entries, exits and user flow.
Filtering of people turning back
The U-turn Filtering function helps reduce unnecessary counts of people moving within the line area but ultimately turning back.
This improves data quality at entrances where users frequently change direction.
Up to 4 zones and dwell-time analysis
The device allows configuration of up to four independent Regional People Counting areas.
Each zone can have a complex shape with up to 10 sides and can be used simultaneously to analyze the number of people and their dwell time.
Information about visitor structure and movement patterns
Group Counting
The device can analyze people moving together as a group.
Children / Adult
It is possible to distinguish children and adults at the appropriate installation height.
View Direction
View-direction analysis can provide additional data useful in Retail Analytics.
Children/Adult Differentiation and selected attribute-recognition functions are intended for mounting heights from 2.2 to 4 m.
Separating staff from customers
The Staff Detection function allows properly marked employees to be excluded from statistics for regular visitors.
This is particularly useful in stores where staff cross the monitored entrance many times during the day.
Current documentation indicates support including Staff Lanyard, Staff Badge, Staff Epaulet and the UWB VA05 kit for compatible hardware versions.
Staff Detection is intended for installation at a height of 2.2–4 m. Support for some accessories depends on the hardware version and device firmware.
Analysis of movement intensity and distribution
The Heat Map function enables analysis of movement intensity and distribution in the monitored space.
The data can support optimization of store layout, displays, circulation routes and other spatial elements.
Connecting up to 16 devices
VS125 supports Multi-Device Stitching, enabling connection of up to 16 devices.
The solution allows coverage of very wide entrances and large areas to be expanded without dividing them into independent analytics systems.
Local processing and privacy settings
VS125 uses Stereo Vision sensors, so its privacy-protection approach differs from devices using ToF.
The manufacturer provides configurable preview privacy settings and states that data containing personal information is not transmitted during standard operation.
Milesight designs VS125 with GDPR requirements in mind.
Up to 1,000,000 records locally
1 million
Local data storage can hold up to one million records.
8 GB
The device has memory dedicated to the Validation function.
Retransmission
Up to 8 × 50,000 data-retransmission packets are supported.
Communication and power through one cable
VS125-P has an RJ45 10/100 Mbps port operating as a PoE Powered Device.
IEEE 802.3af PoE power allows one Ethernet cable to be used for communication and power.
Alternatively, the device can be powered directly with 12 V DC / 1 A.
MQTT, HTTP, BACnet/IP and enterprise network functions
DI/DO and additional integration capabilities
2.4 GHz Wi-Fi in Access Point mode
Independently of wired Ethernet, the device has IEEE 802.11 b/g/n 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.
Wi-Fi operates in AP mode and is used for local configuration of the VS125-P during installation and service work.
IEEE 802.3af PoE or 12 V DC
VS125-P can be powered over Ethernet in accordance with IEEE 802.3af PoE or from an external 12 V DC / 1 A source.
Compact enclosure for mounting above a passageway
VS125 can be mounted directly on the ceiling. With the optional multifunctional bracket, installation on a ceiling extension or lintel is also possible.
Key parameters of VS125-P White / Black
VS125-P in a people-flow analysis system
Data on the number of people, movement direction and space utilization can be transmitted directly over the IP network to a central analytics system.
