VA21 — Staff Detection lanyard for Milesight VS125 counters
Milesight VA21 is a specially designed lanyard that enables VS125-series people counters to automatically recognize staff and exclude their passages from visitor statistics.
The distinctive high-contrast lanyard pattern is recognized by the Staff Detection function of a compatible people counter. This allows employee movement to be separated from actual customer traffic.
VA21 contains no electronics and requires no battery, charging or pairing with the device. The employee wears the lanyard around the neck, while the actual analysis is performed by the VS125 people counter.
More accurate traffic statistics without identifying employees
Staff Detection
Employee movement can be automatically separated from visitor counts.
Anonymity
The solution does not require personal data, biometrics or identification of a specific employee.
No power required
The lanyard is completely passive and requires no battery or charging.
Separating staff traffic from customer traffic
In a traditional People Counting system, an employee passing through an entrance may be counted in the same way as a customer.
VA21 allows a compatible VS125 counter to recognize an employee wearing the distinctive lanyard and mark the crossing as staff traffic.
This makes it possible to obtain more accurate data on actual customer numbers, conversion rate, peak hours and facility utilization.
Retail Analytics and People Counting
Designed for the Milesight VS125 series
In the counter configuration, enable the Staff Detection function and select Staff Lanyard.
Special pattern recognized by the people counter
VA21 has a distinctive alternating color pattern designed so that it can be recognized by compatible Milesight people counters.
The system identifies the lanyard as a staff marker rather than a specific person. Therefore, VA21 does not need to be assigned to an employee and no staff database needs to be created.
Red & White or Black & White
Milesight offers VA21 in two color combinations: red-and-white and black-and-white.
The manufacturer recommends choosing the variant that provides clear contrast with the clothing worn by staff.
Recommended counter height from 2.2 to 4 m
For the Staff Detection function with VA21, Milesight recommends mounting the compatible people counter at a height from 2.2 to 4 m.
Proper visibility of the lanyard and appropriate counter installation height have a direct impact on staff-recognition effectiveness.
The lanyard must remain clearly visible
VA21 should be worn around the neck so that its distinctive pattern is clearly visible to the people counter.
The lanyard should not be covered by a collar, scarf, hair or other clothing items.
The manufacturer also recommends avoiding clothing with patterns similar to the lanyard, such as clearly alternating stripes.
Polyester designed for everyday use
Milesight also specifies that the material is resistant to repeated washing and has properties that help reduce soiling.
Anonymous staff recognition
VA21 does not store any data and contains no electronics.
A compatible counter recognizes the distinctive pattern as an employee marker without the need to collect a name, identifier, biometric data or other personal data.
