Harness solar energy anywhere
The SG50 uses a standard 30 W solar panel (with an optional 45 W upgrade) to harvest solar energy while powering the device and charging its internal battery. It dynamically adjusts the charging current according to battery temperature to optimize solar-energy use and extend battery life.
Reliable without sunlight, continuously connected
The SG50 ensures uninterrupted operation at night or on cloudy days thanks to its built-in battery. It includes a reliable 25 Ah internal battery that provides up to four days of typical operation without sunlight.
Low-power design
- Typical power consumption: 0.8 W
- Data-packet filtering: this function filters invalid packets, effectively reducing unnecessary energy and cellular-network consumption.
- Intelligent Wi-Fi control: automatically switches Wi-Fi off when solar energy is low, reactivates it after the battery has charged, and supports scheduled Wi-Fi control to improve battery efficiency.

Wireless deployment with 4G connectivity
Whether for remote areas or cost-sensitive locations, deploying wireless 4G connectivity reduces cabling expenses and improves convenience.
Remote management and automatic configuration (coming soon)
The SG50 works with the new Milesight management platform, which integrates an LNS (LoRaWAN Network Server). It automatically downloads configuration files when the device comes online and simplifies remote configuration and updates.
Fully wireless installation and operation
The SG50 combines solar energy, a built-in battery, wireless 4G communication and remote management to enable a completely wireless deployment and independent operation in remote and demanding locations.
Effortless adaptation, with or without a solar panel
The SG50 is also well suited to applications without solar panels, such as smart streetlights. The SG50 is powered and its internal battery is charged at night when the streetlights are on, then it operates from its internal battery during the day when the streetlights are off.
Listen Before Talk
The SG50 supports Listen Before Talk (LBT), allowing multiple devices to share the same channel efficiently. This technology minimizes channel conflicts and improves the overall transmission environment.
Easy Configuration via Wi-Fi
The SG50 offers easy Wi-Fi configuration within a 10–15 metre range, eliminating the need for physical contact. This important feature simplifies setup, particularly in remote or difficult locations, saving time and improving accessibility.
