Milesight SCT01 — portable tool for bulk configuration of LoRaWAN® sensors
Milesight SCT01 Sensor Configuration Tool is a portable device designed for fast configuration, operation and updating of compatible Milesight LoRaWAN® devices without the need to perform all operations individually from a smartphone.
The tool uses NFC compliant with ISO/IEC 14443A, Bluetooth 4.0 BLE, local configuration memory and a set of physical buttons that enable repetitive operations to be performed quickly when installing multiple sensors.
SCT01 was designed primarily for installers and integrators carrying out larger IoT deployments. It allows configurations to be prepared in advance and then transferred to successive devices without manually setting all parameters each time.
Faster deployment of a large number of devices
50 configurations
The built-in 16 MB memory allows up to 50 configuration files to be stored and used during subsequent installations.
NFC 1–3 cm
The large NFC reading area makes it easier to position the device correctly relative to the sensor during configuration.
Up to 6 h of operation
The built-in 2000 mAh battery enables many hours of installation work without a constant power connection.
Tool for installers and LoRaWAN® system integrators
Large reading area for efficient sensor configuration
SCT01 uses technology NFC compliant with ISO/IEC 14443A. The declared reading distance is 1–3 cmfunction.
The enlarged NFC communication area reduces problems associated with inaccurate positioning of the device relative to the sensor NFC antenna. The manufacturer declares correct data transfer efficiency exceeding 99,9%function.
This allows successive configuration operations to be carried out faster than with the small NFC antenna in a typical smartphone, especially when working with a large number of devices.
Physical buttons, LED indicators and buzzer
SCT01 has a physical power switch and 7 function buttons used, among other things, to switch the sensor on and off, perform configuration and start firmware updates.
Operation status is displayed through a set of LED indicators, while an additional buzzer provides an audible signal during operations.
This allows basic operations to be performed without constantly observing the phone or computer screen.
Up to 50 configurations and firmware stored locally
Built-in memory 16 MB allows storage of up to 50 configuration filesfunction.
The installer can prepare different profiles for individual models or groups of devices and use them without redefining parameters during each subsequent installation.
SCT01 can also store 1 firmware file, which helps accelerate batch device updates during larger deployments.
Export of configurations and logs via BLE
SCT01 has an interface Bluetooth 4.0 BLE used to configure the tool itself and transfer data.
Bluetooth allows saved configuration files and operation logs to be exported, enabling later analysis or use in subsequent service work.
The declared Bluetooth communication range is approximately 1,5 mfunction.
Tool charging and power supply for the sensor being configured
The device has 1 port USB 2.0 Type-Cfunction.
The port can be used to power and charge SCT01 and also to provide power to a compatible sensor during configuration or service operations.
External power for SCT01 is supplied at a voltage of 5 V DC via USB Type-Cfunction.
Approximately 6 hours of continuous operation
SCT01 has a built-in rechargeable battery with a capacity of 2000 mAhfunction.
At a temperature of 25°C, the device can perform read and write operations for approximately 6 hours on one full charge.
Intelligent sleep mode reduces energy consumption during inactivity. The declared standby time is approximately 1 month. The stated values were determined by the manufacturer under laboratory conditions and are indicative.
Portable tool for installation work
SCT01 can operate at temperatures from −20 to +60°C and at relative humidity from 0 to 95% non-condensing.
The enclosure has an ingress protection rating of IP30. The device is intended primarily for handheld operation and installation/service work, not for permanent installation in an outdoor environment.
Compact enclosure adapted for mobile operation
SCT01 dimensions are 160 × 60 × 26,5 mm and weighs only 141 g, allowing it to be easily carried between successive installation points.
The enclosure is made of white plastic with a flammability class of HBfunction.
