SC541-HL-868M — Full HD sensor camera with Wi-Fi HaLow
Milesight SC541-HL-868M PN: 1020 is a compact sensor camera designed for automatic image capture of meters, indicators, displays and other elements requiring periodic visual inspection.
The PN: 1020 variant is designed for photographing objects located 10 to 20 cm away. The manufacturer indicates approximately 15 cm as the preferred distance when positioning the device.
The HL version uses Wi-Fi HaLow in the sub-GHz band, enabling wireless image transmission while retaining IP communication and the MQTT protocol.
Full HD, 10–20 cm and Wi-Fi HaLow 868 MHz
1920 × 1080
Full HD resolution enables clear images of meters, displays and indicators to be captured.
10–20 cm
The PN: 1020 optics are designed for close-range photography.
Wi-Fi HaLow
Sub-GHz transmission enables images to be sent over an IP network using MQTT.
Automation of visual inspections and readings
Close Capture — optics for operation at 10–20 cm
PN: 1020 denotes the Close Capture variant designed for photographing objects located relatively close to the device.
The manufacturer specifies the proper installation distance as 10–20 cm and indicates approximately 15 cm as the preferred starting point when setting focus and framing.
4,8 mm lens with 77° field of view
Automatic, event-based and manual image capture
Scheduled
Images can be captured cyclically or at specified times and days.
Alarm-In
An external signal can automatically trigger capture of an image.
Button
An image can also be captured manually using the button on the device.
Timed Capture and Interval Capture
Scheduled Capture mode makes it possible to set both specific days and times for image capture and a recurring interval.
As a result, the SC541-HL can automatically document device status or an indicated value without operator involvement.
Built-in auxiliary light for more difficult conditions
The camera has integrated auxiliary illumination that can improve readability of the photographed object in insufficient lighting.
Available modes include automatic, timed, always on and always off.
Remote inspection and analysis without the operator being physically present
The SC541-HL captures images that can replace some manual inspections performed directly at the device.
The image can be used by the supervisory platform or an external system for further analysis, archiving or automatic information reading.
Wireless image transmission in the sub-GHz band
The SC541-HL-868M uses Wi-Fi HaLow for primary data transmission.
The 868M variant operates in the frequency range 863,5–867,5 MHz and can work with compatible Wi-Fi HaLow infrastructure.
The 868M designation does not mean LoRaWAN. The primary protocol for application data transfer is MQTT.
Local 2,4 GHz Wi-Fi and Web GUI
The SC541-HL has additional IEEE 802.11 b/g/n 2,4 GHz Wi-Fi operating as an access point.
The 2,4 GHz interface is used exclusively for configuration of the device and local access to the Web GUI. It is not the primary image transmission channel.
External Wi-Fi HaLow antenna via SMB connector
The SC541-HL version has an antenna connector 50 Ω SMB Female intended for a Wi-Fi HaLow antenna.
This is an important difference compared with the standard SC541, which uses a built-in antenna.
Up to 40 images in device memory
The SC541-HL can store up to 40 images locally, using approximately 3 MB of Flash memory.
If the device has no connection to the platform when an image is captured, the image can be stored locally and transmitted after communication is restored.
Image triggering by an external signal
Up to 3 years of battery operation or USB-C power
The SC541-HL can be powered by two AA lithium iron disulfide Li/FeS₂ batteries with a total capacity of 3000 mAh.
The manufacturer specifies up to approximately 3 years of operation with three images per day, illumination disabled and a temperature of 25°C.
Alternatively, the device can be powered through the USB-C port with 5 V / 1 A. The USB-C port is not used for charging the batteries.
* Manufacturer test: 3 images per day, illumination disabled, temperature 25°C. Actual operating time depends on configuration, number of transmissions and radio conditions.
Standard 1/4-20UNC photographic thread
The device uses a standard 1/4-20UNC mounting interface, so it can be installed on many universal camera mounts.
When photographing reflective surfaces such as meter glass or displays, the manufacturer recommends positioning the camera at a slight angle rather than exactly perpendicular to the surface.

SC541-HL in a remote inspection system
Images captured by the camera can be transmitted via Wi-Fi HaLow to IP infrastructure and onward to the supervisory system.
