Pro-face PFXZCDADEXP1 is a DC power adapter designed for SP5000 Series Box Modules. It enables powering the Box Module independently of the Display Module, allowing the computing unit to operate independently or be installed in a different location from the operator display. The adapter supports 12–24 V DC power and is designed for DIN-rail mounting.
The PFXZCDADEXP1 is additionally equipped with 1× Ethernet 10/100 Mb/s RJ45 and a status LED. The adapter itself consumes a maximum of 2 W. The accessory works with SP5000 Box Modules, including Standard Box, Power Box and Open Box, and with the optional PFXZSPADWM1 bracket it can also be mounted on the wall of a control cabinet.

Pro-face PFXZCDADEXP1 — DC Power Supply Adapter for Box Module
Pro-face PFXZCDADEXP1 is a dedicated DC power adapter that enables independent operation of SP5000 Series Box Modules without a direct connection to a Display Module.
In the standard configuration, a Box Module can receive power from the connected Display Module. PFXZCDADEXP1 allows you to separate the computing section from the operator display and power it directly with 12–24 V DC.
The adapter can be used both in distributed HMI architectures and to create a standalone Multi-Converter / Multi-Data Box based on an SP5000 Box Module.
Independent Power Supply and Flexible Mounting
12–24 V DC
The adapter can be powered directly from a typical industrial DC power system.
DIN Rail
The design enables the Box Module to be installed on a standard DIN rail inside a control cabinet.
Ethernet
An additional RJ45 10/100 Mb/s interface extends the communication capabilities of the complete device.
Box Modules Operating Independently of the Operator Panel
Box Module without a directly connected Display Module
PFXZCDADEXP1 is mounted to the SP5000 Series Box Module and provides its power supply.
The solution is intended, among other uses, for installations where the Box Module and Display Module are located in different places.
The manufacturer also allows the Box Module to operate entirely without a Display Module — in such a configuration, the adapter enables creation of a standalone communication or data-acquisition unit.
12–24 V DC Input
The rated input voltage range of the adapter is 12–24 V DC.
The permissible input voltage range is from 10,8 to 28,8 V DC.
Maximum power consumption of the PFXZCDADEXP1 itself is only 2 W. Total power consumption depends on the Box Module used and connected peripherals.
Additional RJ45 Network Port
PFXZCDADEXP1 features its own RJ45 Ethernet interface.
The port supports IEEE 802.3i and IEEE 802.3u and operates at 10BASE-T / 100BASE-TX.
This is an additional interface on the adapter, independent of the network ports on the Box Module itself.
Built-In Status Indicator
The adapter is equipped with a status LED, enabling local indication of the basic device operating status.
This simplifies installation diagnostics without connecting additional service tools.
Directly on a DIN Rail
PFXZCDADEXP1 is designed for installation together with a Box Module on a standard DIN rail.
The solution is particularly practical in automation cabinets, where the computing unit can be installed next to PLCs, communication devices, and power supplies.
For installation on a wall or mounting plate, Pro-face provides an optional Wall Mount Adapter PFXZSPADWM1.
For SP5000 Series Box Modules
PFXZCDADEXP1 is an accessory intended for SP5000 Series Box Module.
Official Pro-face documentation confirms its use, among others, with Standard Box PFXSP5B00, Power Box PFXSP5B10 and Open Box PFXSP5B41.
The adapter also appears in documentation for selected other SP5000 Open Box versions. When selecting it for a specific older Box Module variant, check its current compatibility table.
SP5000 Box as a Standalone Unit
Pro-face also uses PFXZCDADEXP1 in a solution described as Multi-Converter / Multi-Data Box.
The Box Module can then operate without a local display and perform communication, data-acquisition, and industrial-device integration tasks.
This allows the SP5000 platform to be used not only as a conventional HMI panel but also as a standalone unit installed inside an automation cabinet.
