Pro-face PFXSTM6B is a rear module STM6000 Series Rear Module for BLUE software. It contains the HMI panel computing unit, memory and communication interfaces: 2× Ethernet, 1× COM RS-232C/RS-422/RS-485, USB 2.0 Type-A and USB micro-B. It is designed to work with the PFXSTM62TP 4,3″ Wide and PFXSTM64TP 7″ Wide Display Modules.
PFXSTM6B is a service part that allows only the rear section of the panel to be replaced without replacing the display. When connected to the appropriate Display Module, it forms respectively PFXSTM6200WAD or PFXSTM6400WAD. The module is powered by 24 V DC, consumes a maximum of 6,8 W and can operate independently at temperatures up to 60°C. An optional Rear Module Installation Adapter is required for installation separate from the display.

Pro-face PFXSTM6B — STM6000 Rear Module for BLUE
Pro-face PFXSTM6B is a replaceable STM6000 Series rear module designed for operator panels using the BLUE engineering environment.
The module contains the HMI panel computing section, memory, power circuits and communication interfaces. When connected to the appropriate Display Module, it forms a complete STM6000 operator panel.
PFXSTM6B works with the following displays: PFXSTM62TP 4,3″ Wide and PFXSTM64TP 7″ Wide, so if the rear section fails, only the Rear Module can be replaced without replacing a functioning display.
Modular Design Simplifying HMI Servicing
BLUE
The PFXSTM6B variant is intended for STM6000 panels using the BLUE environment.
2× Ethernet
Two network ports provide flexible integration of the panel with automation devices and Ethernet infrastructure.
Replaceable Rear Module
The module can be replaced independently of the display section.
Servicing and Building Modular STM6000 Panels
Separate Computing Section and Display
STM6000 uses a design consisting of Display Module and Rear Module.
PFXSTM6B is the rear module — it contains the electronics responsible for running the project, communicating with devices and handling data.
This architecture simplifies servicing: if one part of the system fails, it can be replaced independently of the other.
For STM-6200WA and STM-6400WA panels
The current Pro-face accessories list identifies PFXSTM6B as the Rear Module for PFXSTM6200WAD and PFXSTM6400WAD.
The module can be combined with the display PFXSTM62TP 4,3″ Wide or PFXSTM64TP 7″ Wide.
Variant Designed for the BLUE Environment
The key feature of the PFXSTM6B variant is support for BLUE software.
It should not be confused with PFXSTM6BE, which is a hardware-similar Rear Module but designed for GP-Pro EX projects.
When replacing the module in an existing panel, both the device series and the engineering environment in use should therefore be checked.
Memory for BLUE Projects
The STM6000 platform in the BLUE configuration uses Flash EPROM for the project and local memory for application data.
The manufacturer specifies 128 MB of application memory, 467 MB Local Storage and 500 kB of NVRAM.
The real-time clock uses an internal backup battery.
Two Network Interfaces
PFXSTM6B provides two Ethernet ports used by complete STM6000 panels.
The interfaces enable communication with automation devices and the remaining network infrastructure according to the communication drivers available in BLUE.
RS-232C, RS-422 and RS-485
The module features one COM1 interface designed for serial communication.
Current STM6000 documentation indicates support for RS-232C, RS-422 and RS-485.
The standard transmission speed range is from 2400 to 115200 bit/s.
USB host and service interface
The Rear Module is equipped with USB 2.0 Type-A and USB 2.0 micro-B.
The ports are used with supported peripherals and for engineering and service functions.
24 V DC
The STM6000 rear module is powered by a rated voltage of 24 V DC.
The permissible input voltage range is 19,2–28,8 V DC.
The maximum power consumption of the Rear Module is 6,8 W, while without powering external devices it is approximately 3,5 W.
Display and Rear Module Can Operate in Different Locations
The modular STM6000 design allows the display to be physically separated from the PFXSTM6B module.
Pro-face offers separation cables with lengths of 3 m, 5 m and 10 m: PFXZCM6SM3, PFXZCM6SM5 and PFXZCM6SM10.
With this installation method, the Rear Module can be placed in a cabinet on a DIN rail using the appropriate Rear Module Installation Adapter.
PFXSTM6B a PFXSTM6B00D
PFXSTM6B is the Rear Module itself intended primarily for building or servicing an STM6000 panel.
PFXSTM6B00D uses the same hardware concept but is offered as a STM-6B00 Multi-Converter / Gateway Box prepared for independent DIN-rail mounting.
The two catalogue numbers should therefore not be treated as the same commercial item.
BLUE instead of GP-Pro EX
Both modules perform the same structural role but are intended for different engineering environments.
PFXSTM6B = BLUE, while PFXSTM6BE = GP-Pro EX.
When selecting a spare part, the exact variant matching the software configuration of the existing panel should be chosen.
Rear Module for Industrial Environments
A standalone Rear Module can operate over a wider temperature range than a complete panel with the display connected.
The manufacturer specifies an ambient temperature for the rear module alone of 0…60°C. When connected to the Display Module, the operating range of the complete device is 0…50°C.
Compact Rear Module
For Industrial Installations in Many Markets
PFXSTM6B remains covered by the current STM6000 Series certification documentation.
The manufacturer lists the following certifications for this family, among others: UL/cUL, CE, UKCA, KC as well as approvals for selected industrial and marine applications.
