Milesight GS301-868M is a wireless odor detector for bathrooms and restrooms with LoRaWAN EU868communication. The device uses electrochemical sensors to measure ammonia NH₃ in the range 0–10 ppm and hydrogen sulfide H₂S in the range 0–5 ppm, and additionally monitors temperature and humidity.
When the configured threshold is exceeded, the GS301 can activate a local LED and buzzer alarm and transmit information via LoRaWAN. Milesight D2D support additionally enables direct control of, for example, ventilation without a gateway. Four replaceable ER18505 4000 mAh batteries provide approximately 3 years of operation at a 10-minute reporting interval under the manufacturer's test conditions.

The second gas sensor in the GS301 is an electrochemical hydrogen sulfide H₂S detector.
It makes it possible to monitor another parameter associated with unpleasant odors and sanitary conditions in the room.
Temperature and relative humidity
The temperature and humidity sensor ranges are not identical to the operating range of the entire device. The operating temperature of the GS301 is −40…+55°C.
LED and buzzer when configured thresholds are exceeded
For NH₃ and H₂S concentrations, threshold values can be configured, and when they are exceeded the GS301 will generate an alarm.
The device has a local Status / Alarm indicator and a built-in buzzer, so a response can occur directly in the monitored room.
Direct ventilation control without a gateway
In addition to LoRaWAN, the GS301 supports the Milesight D2D protocol, enabling direct communication between devices.
This makes it possible to create local automation with very low latency, for example starting ventilation when the configured NH₃ or H₂S concentration is exceeded.
Energy-efficient data transmission to the central system
The GS301-868M version operates in the European EU868 band and can work with standard LoRaWAN gateways and servers.
The device operates as LoRaWAN Class A and supports OTAA and ABP activation modes.
NFC and Milesight ToolBox app
GS301 parameters can be configured locally using a smartphone equipped with NFC and the Milesight ToolBox app.
This makes it possible, among other things, to configure communication and alarm thresholds without opening the device.

The GS301 uses four replaceable ER18505 Li-SOCl₂ batteries with a capacity of 4000 mAh each.

Compact housing with moisture protection for electronics

However, it should be remembered that the official ingress protection rating of the entire device is IP30. The sensor is intended for indoor installations.
