Milesight EM500-UDL-868M, PN: W050 is an industrial ultrasonic distance and level sensor with LoRaWAN EU868. The W050 variant enables non-contact measurement within a range of 0,3–5 m, with an accuracy of ±1% FS and 1 mm resolution. It is suitable for monitoring liquid levels in tanks, reservoirs, and outdoor installations as well as for measuring distance to objects.
The EM500-UDL features an enclosure IP67, memory 1000 Records, data retransmission, a threshold alarm, and a value-change alarm. The 19 000 mAh Li-SOCl₂ battery provides up to 10 Years of Operation under the manufacturer's test conditions, while configuration via NFC, USB-C, or LoRaWAN downlink simplifies commissioning and device operation.

The sensor sends an ultrasonic pulse and analyses the return time of the reflected signal. This allows it to determine distance without physical contact with the measured medium.

Distance and Level Measurement with One Device
The EM500-UDL can be mounted above the liquid surface and measure the distance between the sensor and the medium surface.
After accounting for tank height, the measured distance can be converted by the supervisory system into the current liquid level.
