Milesight EM410-RDL-868M is an industrial radar distance and level sensor with LoRaWAN EU868. The 60 GHz millimetre-wave radar enables non-contact measurement of liquids and smooth solid surfaces within a range of 0,3–12 m, with 1 mm resolution, a narrow 8° beam, and accuracy reaching ±2 mm under optimal conditions.
The variant without an additional PN designation features an internal LoRaWAN antenna and a process connection G 1½". The IP68-rated PVDF enclosure, memory 2000 Records, data retransmission, level alarms, radar diagnostics, and a 3-axis accelerometer enable reliable monitoring of tanks, sewerage, wells, and water infrastructure.

EM410-RDL — Non-Contact Level Measurement up to 12 Metres
Milesight EM410-RDL-868M is an industrial radar distance and level sensor using 60 GHz millimetre-wave technology and LoRaWAN EU868 communication.
The sensor measures distance to a liquid surface or smooth solid object without physical contact with the medium. A range from 0,3 to 12 metres allows it to be used in tanks, wells, sewerage, retention tanks, and water infrastructure.
This variant uses an internal LoRaWAN antenna and a standard G 1½" process connection.
60 GHz Radar, LoRaWAN and Rugged IP68 Design
0,3–12 m
The wide range makes it possible to monitor levels in both smaller and large tanks.
8° Beam
The narrow radar beam focuses measurement on the selected surface and reduces the influence of objects located next to the target.
IP68 + PVDF
The sealed chemically resistant PVDF enclosure supports operation in demanding outdoor conditions.
Remote Level and Distance Monitoring
Stable, Non-Contact 60 GHz Measurement
The EM410-RDL emits a radar wave towards the liquid surface or object and then analyses the reflected signal to determine distance.
Radar technology is resistant to many factors that interfere with other measurement methods, such as dust, condensation, temperature changes, and acoustic noise.
0,3–12 m Range and 1 mm Resolution
Up to ±2 mm under Optimal Conditions
Internal Antenna and G 1½" Thread
No additional PN designation indicates the standard configuration with an internal LoRaWAN antenna and G 1½" process connection.
Compared with the EA variant, no external antenna or additional antenna cable is required.
Energy-Efficient Outdoor Data Transmission
The EM410-RDL-868M communicates using the LoRaWAN standard in the European EU868 band.
The sensor can work with standard LoRaWAN gateways and network servers, enabling a distributed level monitoring system.
Operating Modes for Different Measurement Environments
The EM410-RDL can be adapted to the characteristics of the monitored object, including a standard tank, stormwater well, or wastewater installation.
3-Axis Accelerometer and Tilt Detection
The built-in 3-axis accelerometer monitors device position.
Normal / Tilt status makes it possible to detect a change in sensor orientation that could affect radar beam direction and measurement accuracy.
Echo Curve and Installation Verification
Radar-echo Curve
The echo curve helps assess the quality of the reflected radar signal.
Diagnostic
The diagnostic function supports sensor alignment and calibration in a specific installation.
Blind Zone Alarm
The device can indicate when the result falls within the measurement blind zone.
Automatic Level Change Detection
2000 Records and Measurement Retransmission
2000 Records
The sensor can locally store up to 2000 historical records.
Retransmission
Data stored during a temporary communication loss can be retransmitted.
Data Retrievability
The LoRaWAN version enables previously stored measurements to be retrieved.
NFC, Bluetooth and Remote Downlink
The EM410-RDL can be configured using the mobile app via NFC or Bluetooth.
Selected settings can also be changed remotely using LoRaWAN downlink commands.
Approximately 7 Years of Autonomous Operation
The EM410-RDL uses an ER34615 Li-SOCl₂ battery with a capacity of 19 000 mAh.
Milesight specifies approximately 7 years of operation for the LoRaWAN version with measurement every 15 minutes, reporting every 1440 minutes, and a temperature of 25°C.
* Manufacturer value with measurement every 15 minutes, reporting every 1440 minutes, and a temperature of 25°C. Actual battery life depends on configuration and operating conditions.
IP68, PVDF and −40…+70°C Temperature Range
IP68
The manufacturer declares resistance to immersion in fresh water to a depth of 1 m for 48 hours.
PVDF
The enclosure material provides high resistance to corrosion and wear.
−40…+70°C
The wide temperature range enables year-round operation in many outdoor installations.
Key Parameters of the EM410-RDL-868M
* Up to ±2 mm for a perfectly smooth surface or calm liquid; up to ±5 mm for a relatively smooth surface or stable liquid. ** Approximately 7 years with measurement every 15 minutes, reporting every 1440 minutes, and a temperature of 25°C.
EM410-RDL in a Level Monitoring System
Sensor data can be automatically transmitted via the LoRaWAN network to a central monitoring platform.
