Milesight EM400-UDL-N03GL, PN: C100 is a non-contact ultrasonic distance and level sensor with NB-IoT / LTE Cat M1 and built-in GNSS positioning. The C100 variant measures distance within a range of 0,25–10 m with a resolution of 1 mm, making it suitable for monitoring water levels, tanks, wells, sewerage, and other outdoor installations.
The device features an enclosure IP67, a 3-axis accelerometer, an NTC temperature sensor, threshold alarms, and NFC configuration. Two replaceable 9000 mAh ER26500 Li-SOCl₂ batteries provide approximately 10 Years of Operation with TCP/UDP or approximately 5 years with MQTT/AWS under the manufacturer's test conditions. The cellular version also supports GNSS and does not require a LoRaWAN gateway.

EM400-UDL C100 — Non-Contact Level Measurement up to 10 Metres
Milesight EM400-UDL-N03GL C100 is an industrial ultrasonic distance and level sensor with direct NB-IoT / LTE Cat M communication and built-in GNSS positioning.
The C100 variant enables non-contact measurement from 0,25 to 10 metres. The device can be used to monitor liquid level, distance to the surface, and changes in tanks and outdoor assets.
Thanks to cellular connectivity, the device does not require a local LoRaWAN gateway. Data can be transmitted directly through the operator network to an IoT platform.
Non-Contact Measurement, Cellular Connectivity and GNSS
0,25–10 m
The wide C100 range enables monitoring of both smaller and large tanks.
NB-IoT / LTE-M
Direct communication through the operator network eliminates the need to install a local LoRaWAN gateway.
GNSS
Built-in positioning allows device coordinates to be transmitted and supports location monitoring.
Level Monitoring in Distributed Locations
Measurement Without Direct Contact with the Medium
The EM400-UDL emits an ultrasonic wave towards the measured surface and determines distance from the return time of the reflected signal.
This allows the sensor to be mounted above the liquid surface without immersing the sensing element in the medium.
Measurement Range 0,25–10 m
Distance Can Be Converted into Liquid Level
The sensor measures the distance between the sensor and the liquid surface or measured object.
Once the tank height is defined, the result can be used by the platform to calculate the current level or fill percentage.
NB-IoT and LTE Cat M1 Instead of LoRaWAN
The EM400-UDL-N03GL is the cellular version of the device and supports NB-IoT and LTE Cat M1 technologies.
The sensor uses a Micro SIM card and can communicate directly through the operator network with a server or IoT platform.
TCP, UDP, MQTT and AWS
Device Positioning
The NB-IoT / Cat M version is equipped with GNSS positioning for determining device location.
The sensor can report longitude and latitude coordinates, making it easier to manage distributed outdoor infrastructure.
3-axis accelerometer and Tilt status
The built-in 3-axis accelerometer monitors device orientation.
Normal / Tilt status makes it possible to detect a change in sensor position that may affect ultrasonic measurement accuracy.
Built-in NTC for Device Temperature Monitoring
The EM400-UDL also features an internal NTC temperature sensor.
The manufacturer uses it, among other things, to detect and alarm on unusual increases in device temperature.
Alarms, Calibration and Energy Saving
Threshold Alarm
An alarm can be generated when the defined level or distance is exceeded.
Cumulative Report
The NB version supports cumulative reporting that reduces the number of transmissions and power consumption.
Tilt & Distance Switch
The device can use a position change in combination with distance measurement.
Two Replaceable 9000 mAh Batteries
The EM400-UDL uses two replaceable ER26500 Li-SOCl₂ batteries with a capacity of 9000 mAh each.
For the NB-IoT / Cat M version, Milesight declares approximately 10 years of operation with TCP/UDP or approximately 5 years with MQTT/AWS under specified test conditions.
* Manufacturer conditions: 4 reports per day, each report contains 12 packets with a 30-minute collection interval, temperature 25°C. PSM is required for the SIM, and actual battery life also depends on cellular network conditions.
NFC and Milesight ToolBox App
The device can be activated and configured wirelessly using an NFC-enabled smartphone.
Inside the enclosure there is also a physical Power / Reset button and an LED.
IP67 and Protected Electronics
IP67
The enclosure protects the device against dust and water.
Conformal Coating
The electronics have an additional coating that protects the PCB against moisture and contaminants.
−30…+70°C
The wide temperature range enables operation in many outdoor installations.
Key Parameters of the EM400-UDL-N03GL C100
* The manufacturer specifies an accuracy of ±(1 + 0,3% × S) cm for the range 0,25–8 m. The nominal range of the C100 variant is currently 0,25–10 m. ** Manufacturer laboratory values; for the cellular version, PSM is required on the SIM side, and battery life depends on network conditions.
EM400-UDL-N03GL in a Level Monitoring System
The cellular version can transmit data directly through the operator network without the need to install a LoRaWAN gateway.
