Milesight EM300-MCS-868M is a wireless magnetic sensor for monitoring the opening of doors, windows, cabinets, and other movable elements. The reed switch detects a change of state when the magnet is at a distance of 20–30 mmand information about the open or closed state is transmitted via the LoRaWAN network.
The device also measures temperature from −30 to +70°C and humidity from 0–100% RH. The IP67 enclosure with UV resistance, storage for 2800 records, Milesight D2D, and a replaceable 4000 mAh battery make the EM300-MCS suitable for monitoring technical rooms, warehouses, cabinets, doors, and industrial infrastructure.

EM300-MCS — Remote Monitoring of Doors, Windows and Cabinets
Milesight EM300-MCS is a wireless magnetic sensor designed for monitoring the open and closed status of doors, windows, cabinets, and other movable elements.
A separate magnet works with a reed switch located at the end of a 1,5 m cable. A change in the magnet's position is detected by the device and can be immediately transmitted via LoRaWAN to a central monitoring system. Built-in temperature and humidity sensors further extend the range of monitored parameters.
Open/Close Status and Environmental Conditions in One Device
Open / Closed
The magnetic reed switch detects a change in the status of a door, window, or other element and can immediately generate an alarm event.
3 Functions in 1
In addition to the reed switch status, the EM300-MCS measures temperature and humidity at the installation location.
More Than 10 Years of Operation
Energy-efficient LoRaWAN communication and a replaceable 4000 mAh battery reduce the need for frequent device maintenance.
Where Can the EM300-MCS Be Used?
Magnetic Monitoring of Door and Window Status
Notification of Unauthorised or Unplanned Opening
The EM300-MCS can record a change in the status of a door, window, or cabinet and transmit the event to the supervisory system. This makes it possible to create an opening history and generate alarms when an event occurs outside the expected scenario.
The solution can be used both for access monitoring and process control — for example, to verify whether the door of a cold room, technical cabinet, or room remains closed.
Temperature and Humidity Without an Additional Sensor
Flexible Response to Status Changes
Opening Alarm
A change in the reed switch status can immediately generate a message transmitted to the central monitoring system.
Configurable Reporting
The interval and number of alarm reports can be adjusted to the way the device is used in a specific installation.
Environmental Alarms
Temperature and humidity thresholds can also be defined, extending monitoring to conditions within the protected space.
Local Automation Without a Gateway
The EM300-MCS supports Milesight D2D, enabling direct communication with compatible Milesight devices without using a LoRaWAN gateway or server.
A change in door or window status can therefore directly trigger a local automation action, such as controlling a relay, lighting, or another system component.
2800 Records and Retransmission
2800 Records
The device can locally store up to 2800 historical records.
Retransmission
Data stored during temporary loss of connectivity can be retransmitted after the connection to the LoRaWAN network is restored.
Data Recovery
The Data Retrievability function allows historical data stored directly in the device memory to be retrieved.
IP67 and UV Resistance
IP67
The transmitter enclosure protects the electronics against dust and water, enabling operation in demanding conditions.
UV Resistance
The device design also allows use in locations exposed to solar radiation.
Flexible Mounting
The transmitter can be mounted using screws, 3M tape, or cable ties, while the magnet can be mounted using screws or 3M tape.
Communication, Power Supply and Design
* The manufacturer declares more than 10 years of operation at SF7 / EU868, a 10-minute reporting interval, and 48 reed switch events per day. At SF10 / EU868, the declared battery life is approximately 4,5 years. Actual battery life depends on configuration, communication quality, and the number of events.
EM300-MCS in a Monitoring System
Open/close status as well as temperature and humidity data can be transmitted via LoRaWAN to a gateway and then to a central monitoring system.
