Milesight CT303-868M is a smart three-channel LoRaWAN® current transformer designed for wireless RMS current measurement up to 300 A per measurement channel. The split-core design allows the transformers to be installed on existing conductors without disconnecting them, and one module can monitor up to three phases or independent circuits. The device offers ±1% accuracy, 1 mA resolution and sampling at up to 3,3 kHz.
Variant CT303-868M operates in the LoRaWAN® EU868 band and supports OTAA/ABP Class A. It can be powered by energy induced from the monitored conductor or by 5 V via USB-C, and the current version enables regular reporting from as low as 3 A at a 1-minute interval or 2,5 A at 10 minuteses. Threshold and overrange alarms, optional NTC cable temperature measurement and FUOTA updates are supported. The transformer opening has a diameter of Ø24,2 mm.

Milesight CT303-868M — three-phase current measurement up to 300 A
Milesight CT303-868M is a smart LoRaWAN® current transformer designed for wireless current monitoring in electrical installations, load circuits and equipment with loads up to 300 A.
The split-core design allows the transformers to be installed on existing conductors without cutting or disconnecting them, which significantly simplifies retrofitting of operating installations.
One communication module can support up to three measurement channels, so the CT303 can monitor individual phases of a three-phase installation or three independent circuits. Data is transmitted wirelessly via LoRaWAN® to the gateway and onward to the supervisory system.
300 A, ±1% and self-powering
300 A
Each CT303 channel enables RMS current measurement up to 300 A.
±1%
±1% accuracy and 3,3 kHz sampling make it possible to observe load changes in detail.
Battery-free
The device can harvest energy directly from the monitored conductor.
Monitoring electrical equipment and circuits
RMS measurement up to 300 A per transformer
The CT303 measures RMS current value in installations operating at 50–60 Hz.
The rated primary current is 300 Arms per transformer, while the rated secondary current is 150 mArms.
The manufacturer specifies an accuracy of ±1% and a measurement resolution of 1 mA.
Sampling frequency up to 3,3 kHz
The CT303 uses a sampling frequency of 3,3 kHz.
The device can perform measurements at intervals as short as one second, supporting rapid detection of load changes and alarm conditions.
The accumulated ampere-hour value is calculated in real time, enabling analysis of monitored-circuit usage trends.
Reporting from as low as 2,5 A
The current CT303 version features a significantly reduced minimum current required for regular data transmission when powered inductively.
At a reporting interval of 1 minute the minimum current is 3 Arms.
At an interval of 10 minutes the minimum value drops to 2,5 Arms. For even lower values, the device can additionally be powered with 5 V via USB-C.
Up to three independent measurement channels
The CT3xx design enables monitoring of up to three different conductors or phases using a single communication module.
This makes it possible to monitor each phase of a three-phase installation independently and compare the load level of individual channels.
The solution can also be used for parallel monitoring of several independent loads.
Split-core with Ø24,2 mm opening
The CT303 uses split-core current transformer.
The sensor can be fitted around an existing conductor without cutting or disconnecting it, so installation does not require interference with current-path continuity.
The transformer opening diameter is Ø24,2 mm.
Wireless transmission in the 868 MHz band
Variant CT303-868M is designed to operate in the European LoRaWAN® EU868 band.
Supported activation modes are OTAA and ABP, and the device operates as a LoRaWAN® Class A device.
The maximum transmit power in the 868 MHz band is 16 dBm, while receiver sensitivity reaches −137 dBm.
External SMA 50 Ω connector
The communication module has SMA 50 Ω antenna connector.
An external antenna makes it possible to adapt the radio installation to conditions in the facility or distribution board.
For metal cabinets, the antenna can be routed to a location providing better LoRaWAN® transmission conditions.
Automatic detection of load changes
The CT303 allows configuration of minimum and maximum current thresholds.
When the configured values are exceeded, the device can generate an alarm and transmit it via LoRaWAN®.
An overrange alarm and a low device-supply-voltage alarm are also available.
MIN threshold
Detection of consumption dropping below the configured value.
MAX threshold
Alarm when the permissible load level is exceeded.
Overrange
Indication that the CT303 rated range has been exceeded.
Additional NTC temperature monitoring
The CT303 supports external NTC temperature sensor connected to the USB Type-C port.
The measurement range is from −20 to +100°C, with declared temperature measurement accuracy of ±1%.
The function makes it possible to extend current monitoring with cable temperature monitoring and detection of potentially hazardous thermal conditions.
Induced power or 5 V via USB-C
The CT303 can operate without a battery and additional power cable, harvesting energy inductively from the monitored conductor.
Alternatively, the module can be powered with 5 V via USB Type-C.
With induced power, energy for the module is harvested from the conductor monitored as phase A.
Up to 12 hours after power loss
The energy-efficient CT3xx design enables device operation to be maintained even for up to 12 hours after power loss in the monitored circuit.
The solution helps maintain continuity of operation for intermittently operating equipment or circuits with longer downtime periods.
USB-C, downlink and FUOTA
Local CT303 configuration can be performed via USB Type-C.
Selected device settings can also be changed remotely using LoRaWAN® downlink messages.
Support FUOTA — Firmware Update Over the Air allows the device firmware to be updated remotely.
