EEM-MA371 — EMpro energy meter with direct Rogowski input
Phoenix Contact EEM-MA371 2908307 is a multifunction energy meter designed to measure and monitor electrical parameters in low-voltage installations up to 690 V AC.
The device supports single-, two- and three-phase networks, performs continuous TRMS measurement and enables analysis of voltage, current, power, energy and higher harmonics.
A characteristic feature of EEM-MA371 is direct connection of Rogowski coils, which simplifies installation of the measurement system and enables monitoring of currents up to 4000 A without conventional 1 A or 5 A current transformers.
Rogowski, 4000 A and Ethernet communication
4000 A
The second measurement level enables current monitoring up to 4000 A using a suitable Rogowski coil.
Rogowski
Direct inputs for Rogowski coils reduce the number of additional components in the measurement circuit and simplify installation.
Modbus TCP
Ethernet with Modbus TCP and REST API enables fast data transmission to automation and energy management systems.
Monitoring of high loads and power installations
Direct current measurement up to 4000 A
EEM-MA371 has three measurement inputs RC1, RC2 and RC3 designed for direct connection of Rogowski coils.
Two measurement levels are available: up to 400 A and up to 4000 A, allowing the same meter to be used in installations with very different load levels.
When Phoenix Contact coils are used, the transmission ratio is 100 mV / 1000 A.
Measurement without disconnecting the main current path
Rogowski coils can be installed around an existing conductor or busbar, making installation of the measurement system simpler than with many conventional current transformers.
The solution is particularly well suited to retrofitting existing distribution boards and applications where conductors or busbars with large cross-sections are monitored.
Direct inputs of EEM-MA371 also reduce the number of intermediate components required between the coil and the meter.
Support for single-, two- and three-phase installations
EEM-MA371 can operate in three-phase 3- and 4-wire, two-phase and single-phase networks.
The meter uses continuous true root mean square True RMS, allowing correct representation of parameters even with distorted waveforms.
The fundamental frequency range is from 45 to 65 Hz.
Direct measurement up to 690 V AC
EEM-MA371 has three voltage measurement inputs V1, V2 and V3.
The direct measurement range is 18–690 V AC phase-to-phase and 11–400 V AC phase-to-neutral.
With external voltage transformers, the device can also operate with installations having significantly higher primary voltage.
Class 1 for active energy
In the circuit using Rogowski coils, current measurement accuracy is 0,5%, while power measurement accuracy is 1%.
Active energy measurement meets the requirements class 1 according to IEC 62053-21.
Reactive energy is measured in class 2 according to IEC 62053-23.
Recording up to the 63rd harmonic
EEM-MA371 analyzes voltage and current harmonics up to the 63rd harmonic.
This function helps identify distortions generated by inverters, variable-speed drives, switched-mode power supplies and other nonlinear loads.
The sampling frequency is 12.8 kHz for 50 Hz networks and 15.4 kHz for 60 Hz networks.
Ethernet with Modbus TCP and REST API
EEM-MA371 has one Ethernet RJ45 operating at 10 or 100 Mb/s.
Support Modbus TCP enables direct communication with PLCs, SCADA systems, BMS and energy management systems.
Interface REST API also enables measurement values to be integrated with applications and IT systems.
Digital I/O for automation integration
The meter has one digital input compliant with IEC/EN 61131-2 Type 3.
The input supports a 24 V DC signal, and the input voltage range is from 0 to 30 V DC.
A 24 V DC digital output is also available with a maximum current of 100 mA.
LCD display and configuration via web server
EEM-MA371 has a backlit, two-color, multi-line LCD display enabling local viewing of measurement values.
The integrated web server enables device configuration through a standard web browser.
A guided step-by-step installation wizard simplifies setup of network topology, measurement parameters and communication.
Power supply from AC or DC installation
Operation at temperatures from −25 to +70°C
Compact 5-TE enclosure for DIN rail
EEM-MA371 is designed for mounting on a horizontal DIN rail in electrical distribution boards and control cabinets.
The enclosure width is 90 mm, height 90 mm and depth 71.9 mm, corresponding to a width of 5 modules.
The enclosure protection rating is IP20, while the display section has IP40 protection.
