EEM-MA771 — panel-mounted EMpro energy meter
Phoenix Contact EEM-MA771 2908286 is a multifunction energy meter designed to measure and monitor electrical parameters in low-voltage installations up to 690 V AC.
The device enables direct connection of Rogowski coils, performs continuous True RMS measurement, and allows analysis of voltage, current, power, energy and higher harmonics.
EEM-MA771 combines a panel-mounted design with a local display and Ethernet with Modbus TCP and REST, enabling both convenient on-site parameter reading and data transmission to higher-level control and energy management systems.
Up to 4000 A, Rogowski coils and Ethernet communication
4000 A
The second measurement range enables monitoring of high current loads up to 4000 A.
Rogowski
Direct inputs for Rogowski coils simplify installation and reduce the number of additional components in the measurement circuit.
Modbus TCP
10/100 Mb/s Ethernet enables fast data transmission to automation and energy management systems.
Monitoring of high loads and power installations
Direct current measurement up to 4000 A
EEM-MA771 has three measurement inputs RC1, RC2 and RC3 designed for direct connection of Rogowski coils.
The device supports two measurement ranges: up to 400 A and up to 4000 A, allowing the configuration to be adapted to different installation load levels.
When using a Phoenix Contact coil, the transmission ratio is 100 mV / 1000 A, while the voltage range of the measurement input is from 500 µV to 400 mV.
Measurement without conventional 1 A / 5 A current transformers
Rogowski coils can be installed around existing conductors or busbars, making it easier to expand measurement systems already in operation.
This solution is particularly well suited to high-current installations and locations where conventional current transformers would be difficult to use.
The direct inputs of EEM-MA771 reduce the number of components between the coil and the meter, reducing additional wiring.
Continuous true RMS measurement
EEM-MA771 can operate in three-phase 3- and 4-wire, two-phase and single-phase installations.
All electrical parameters are measured according to the True RMS continuously, allowing the device to correctly represent distorted voltage and current waveforms as well.
The fundamental frequency range is from 45 to 65 Hz.
Direct measurement up to 690 V AC
The meter has three voltage inputs V1, V2 and V3 designed to monitor individual installation phases.
The direct measurement range is 18–690 V AC phase-to-phase and 11–400 V AC phase-to-neutral.
With external voltage transformers, the primary voltage can be configured from 60 V AC to 2,000,000 V AC.
Class 1 for active energy
Voltage measurement accuracy is 0,2%, while current measurement using Rogowski coils is performed with 0.5% accuracy.
Power measurement accuracy is 1%, and active energy meets the requirements of class 1 according to IEC 62053-21.
Reactive energy is measured in class 2 according to IEC 62053-23.
Recording up to the 63rd harmonic
EEM-MA771 enables analysis of voltage and current harmonics up to the 63rd harmonic.
This function makes it possible to identify distortions associated with inverters, variable-speed drives, switched-mode power supplies and other nonlinear loads.
Harmonic data can support installation diagnostics and analysis of power quality parameters.
Ethernet with Modbus TCP and REST
EEM-MA771 has one Ethernet RJ45 supporting transmission at 10 or 100 Mb/s.
Modbus TCP enables direct transmission of measurement values to PLCs, SCADA systems, BMS and energy management systems.
Interface REST also makes it possible to provide data to applications and IT systems without using serial communication.
Digital I/O for automation integration
The meter has one digital input compliant with IEC/EN 61131-2 Type 3.
The input operates with a 24 V DC signal, while the input voltage range is from 0 to 30 V DC.
One 24 V DC digital output is also available with a maximum current of 100 mA.
Wide AC and DC supply range
EEM-MA771 can be powered by AC or DC voltage, making it easier to adapt the device to the infrastructure available in the distribution board.
The supply range is 100–400 V AC ±20% or 150–250 V DC ±20%.
The meter's power consumption does not exceed 4 W.
LCD display and configuration via web server
EEM-MA771 has a backlit, two-color, multi-line LCD display enabling local viewing of the most important installation parameters.
The integrated web server allows the device to be configured from a standard web browser.
An intuitive installation wizard guides the user through the basic settings of network topology, measurement parameters and communication.
Reinforced insulation and 4 kV AC test voltage
The EEM-MA771 design provides electrical insulation in accordance with IEC 61010-1 and IEC 61010-2-030 requirements.
It uses reinforced insulation, and the test voltage is 4 kV AC for 60 seconds.
For the voltage measurement input, measurement category III at 300 V AC and II at 600 V AC is specified.
Operation at temperatures from −25 to +70°C
96 × 96 mm panel meter
EEM-MA771 is designed for installation in the front panel of a distribution board or control cabinet.
The device dimensions are 96 × 96 × 73.3 mm, while the required installation depth is 58.3 mm.
The enclosure has an IP20 protection rating, while the front with display and supplied gasket achieves IP54.
96 × 96 mm
The standard panel design enables installation in typical distribution boards and control cabinets.
IP54
The device front with the gasket fitted provides an increased protection rating.
