EEM-MA770-R — multifunction EMpro energy meter
Phoenix Contact EEM-MA770-R 2907944 is a multifunction energy meter designed to measure and monitor electrical parameters in low-voltage installations up to 690 V AC.
The device supports single-, two- and three-phase networks, performs continuous TRMS measurement and enables analysis of voltage, current, power, energy and higher harmonics.
The EEM-MA770-R version combines Ethernet communication with Modbus TCP and REST API with an additional interface RS-485 supporting Modbus RTU, enabling integration of the meter with both modern and existing automation systems.
Precise measurement and two Modbus communication standards
690 V AC
Direct phase-to-phase voltage measurement allows the meter to be used in typical low-voltage installations.
Modbus RTU/TCP
Ethernet and RS-485 enable integration with systems using both Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU.
63rd harmonic
Harmonic analysis enables more accurate assessment of installation power quality and parameters.
Energy monitoring in industrial and building installations
Support for single-, two- and three-phase installations
EEM-MA770-R can operate in three-phase 3- and 4-wire networks, two-phase installations and single-phase installations.
Measurement is performed as continuous true RMS value, allowing the meter to correctly represent distorted current and voltage waveforms as well.
The measurement range for the fundamental frequency is from 45 to 65 Hz.
Direct measurement up to 690 V AC
The meter has three voltage inputs V1, V2 and V3 designed to measure parameters of individual phases.
The direct measurement range is 18–690 V AC phase-to-phase and 11–400 V AC phase-to-neutral.
For higher-voltage installations, EEM-MA770-R can work with external voltage transformers.
1 A and 5 A current transformers
Current is measured through three inputs I1, I2 and I3 working with standard current transformers.
EEM-MA770-R supports transformers with a secondary current of 1 A or 5 A, and the configurable primary current range is from 1 to 20,000 A.
Current measurement accuracy is 0.2%.
Class 0.5 S for active energy
Power measurement accuracy is 0.5%, enabling the device to be used for detailed monitoring of load and energy consumption.
Active energy measurement meets the requirements class 0.5 S according to IEC 62053-22 and class 0.5 S according to ANSI C12.20.
Reactive energy is measured in class 2 according to IEC 62053-23.
Recording up to the 63rd harmonic
EEM-MA770-R records voltage and current harmonics up to the 63rd harmonic.
This function enables analysis of waveform distortions occurring, among others, in installations with inverters, variable-speed drives, switched-mode power supplies and other nonlinear loads.
The sampling frequency is 12.8 kHz for 50 Hz networks and 15.4 kHz for 60 Hz networks.
Modbus TCP and REST API
The built-in RJ45 Ethernet port enables communication at 10 or 100 Mb/s.
Support Modbus TCP enables data transmission to PLCs, SCADA systems, energy management systems and other devices operating on the Ethernet network.
Available interface REST API via HTTP facilitates the use of measurement data in applications and IT systems as well.
Modbus RTU for integration with existing systems
A characteristic element of the EEM-MA770-R version is the additional serial interface RS-485 with Modbus RTU protocol.
It enables integration of the meter with existing controllers, data concentrators and automation systems using a serial bus.
The transmission speed can be configured within the range from 2.4 to 115.2 kb/s, and the device has an integrated 120 Ω terminating resistor.
Digital I/O for automation integration
EEM-MA770-R has one digital input compliant with IEC/EN 61131-2 Type 3.
One 24 V DC digital output with a maximum current of 100 mA is also available.
Digital I/O enables the meter to be integrated with additional signals from the installation or control system.
LCD display and configuration via browser
The meter has backlit, two-color, multi-line LCD display, enabling local viewing of the most important parameters.
The integrated web server allows the device to be configured using a standard web browser.
An intuitive installation wizard guides the user through the basic configuration stages and facilitates meter commissioning.
Power supply directly from the AC or DC installation
Operation at temperatures from −25 to +70°C
