MM-EE-EEM-MA570-R — multifunction energy meter up to 600 V AC

Phoenix Contact MM-EE-EEM-MA570-R 1726496 is a panel-mounted network-parameter meter designed to monitor energy and electrical quantities in industrial installations up to 600 V AC.

The device uses true RMS measurement, supports 1 A and 5 A current transformers and allows the primary current to be configured from 1 to 9999 A.

Built-in interfaces RS-485 / Modbus RTU and Ethernet / Modbus TCP enable direct integration with local PLC, SCADA, BMS and energy-consumption monitoring systems.

Accurate measurement and two Modbus communication standards

Class 0.5 S

Active energy is measured according to IEC 62053-22 in accuracy class 0,5 S.

RTU + TCP

One meter can communicate via a conventional RS-485 bus and an Ethernet network.

63rd harmonic

Harmonic analysis extends standard energy monitoring with information about network distortion.

Direct measurement up to 600 V AC

The MM-EE-EEM-MA570-R has three voltage inputs V1, V2 and V3.

The direct measurement range is 87–600 V AC phase-to-phase and 50–345 V AC phase-to-neutral.

When external voltage transformers are used, the primary voltage can be configured up to 600 000 V AC.

1 A or 5 A current transformers

Current measurement is performed using external current transformers.

The meter supports standard secondary values of 1 A and 5 A.

The transformer primary current can be configured from 1 to 9999 A, allowing one model to be used at very different load levels.

True RMS measurement

The MM-EE-EEM-MA570-R uses the True RMS, i.e. true RMS measurement.

This enables reliable monitoring of electrical parameters also in installations with non-linear loads and distorted waveforms.

The frequency measurement range is 45–65 Hz.

45–65 Hz

Analysis up to the 63rd harmonic

The meter enables harmonics to be recorded up to the 63rd harmonic.

The function extends energy monitoring with data on distortions present in the electrical network.

This is particularly useful in installations with inverters, switched-mode power supplies, drives and other power-electronic loads.

Class 0.5 S for active energy

The MM-EE-EEM-MA570-R measures active energy in class 0.5 S according to IEC 62053-22.

Reactive energy is measured in class 2 according to IEC 62053-23.

Voltage measurement accuracy is 0.2%.

Energy recording in different tariffs

Phoenix Contact defines the MM-EE-EEM-MA570-R as a meter supporting multi-tariff functions.

This makes it possible to divide energy data among different tariffs or operating periods according to system configuration.

The function can be used in more advanced internal energy monitoring and consumption-billing systems.

RS-485 for conventional automation systems

The meter’s first communication interface is RS-485 with Modbus RTU protocol.

The transmission speed can be set in the range from 2400 to 38,400 bit/s.

The interface enables operation with existing industrial buses, PLC controllers, SCADA systems and data concentrators.

Ethernet RJ45 100 Mb/s

The second communication interface of the MM-EE-EEM-MA570-R is RJ45 Ethernet with Modbus TCP protocol.

The Ethernet interface operates at 100 Mb/s.

This allows the meter to be connected directly to an Ethernet network and data to be made available to supervisory systems without an additional gateway converting Modbus RTU to TCP.
