ECM-UC-100A-UI-REL — universal current transducer up to 125 A
Phoenix Contact ECM-UC-100A-UI-REL 1698172 is a configurable measuring transducer designed for monitoring alternating, direct and distorted currents in automation systems and industrial installations.
The device enables AC current measurement up to 100 A and DC current measurement from −100 to +100 A, while the maximum configured range can be 125 A AC/DC.
Version UI-REL combines a configurable voltage or current analog output with a relay output. This allows one module to simultaneously transmit the current measurement value to the control system and provide local signaling when a set threshold is exceeded.
Up to 125 A, analog output and relay signaling
up to 125 A
The wide configurable measurement range allows one transducer to be used in many AC and DC circuits.
U / I
The configurable voltage or current output simplifies connection to standard PLC analog inputs.
Relay
The built-in changeover contact enables local signaling of states or when a set value is exceeded.
Current and electrical load monitoring
AC, DC and distorted waveforms
ECM-UC-100A-UI-REL is designed for measurement of alternating current, direct current and distorted waveforms.
The basic input range is from 0 to 100 A AC and from −100 to +100 A DC.
The device allows configuration of 0–50 A and 0–100 A ranges, and the maximum input value can be set up to 125 A AC/DC.
Support for DC current flow in both directions
For direct current, ECM-UC-100A-UI-REL can detect both positive and negative current values.
The standard range is −100…+100 A DC, while the maximum setting range can reach −125…+125 A DC.
This function is useful in applications where the direction of energy flow can change, for example in battery systems, power supply systems or other DC circuits.
Measurement of a conductor routed through the housing
The measured conductor is routed directly through the 11 mm diameter opening located in the transducer housing.
This allows the main current path to be separated from the power supply terminals and signal outputs of the device.
The manufacturer permits the use of a round conductor with a cross-section up to 25 mm² / AWG 3.
Configurable measurement bandwidth up to 1000 Hz
The measurement characteristics can be adapted to the frequency of the monitored circuit.
The available frequency ranges are 0–100 Hz, 0–200 Hz, 0–500 Hz and 0–1000 Hz.
This enables the device to be used both in standard 50/60 Hz mains circuits and in applications with more complex current waveforms.
Maximum transmission error 0.5%
The maximum transmission error is 0.5% of nominal range value under nominal conditions.
The maximum temperature coefficient is below 0,02%/K.
Stable measurement characteristics allow the device to be used for continuous load monitoring over a wide temperature range.
Response time from 20 ms
The 10–90% step response time for AC/DC measurement is 200 ms.
For DC current measurement, the response time can be 20 ms.
This allows both steady-state values and short-term load changes in the monitored circuit to be monitored.
High resistance to short-term overloads
The transducer has a continuous overload capacity of 2 × IN, depending on the conductor routed through the device.
The short-term surge withstand is as high as 20 × IN for 1 second.
This provides additional reserve during momentary current increases, for example when loads are switched on.
Configurable voltage and current signals
ECM-UC-100A-UI-REL can transmit the current measurement value using a standard voltage or current output.
Available voltage ranges include 0–10 V, 0–5 V, 1–5 V, 2–10 V, −10…+10 V and −5…+5 V.
For the current signal, the available standards are 0–20 mA and 4–20 mA, as well as inverted characteristics 20–0 mA and 20–4 mA.
One changeover contact for local signaling
Version UI-REL additionally has a relay with one AgNi alloy changeover contact.
The maximum switching voltage is 250 V AC or 48 V DC.
The permissible continuous contact current is up to 6 A at 250 V AC and up to 1 A at 48 V DC.
Additional 24 V DC signal
In addition to the analog and relay outputs, the device also provides a digital output.
The maximum output signal voltage is 24 V DC, while the maximum output current is 100 mA.
USB-C and built-in web interface
The ECM-UC-100A-UI-REL parameters can be set via USB-C port and integrated Web Based Management.
For configuration via USB-C external 24 V DC power supply is not required, allowing the device to be prepared before installation in the control cabinet.
The default WBM configuration interface address is 192.168.128.1.
USB-C
The standard interface allows the transducer to be quickly connected to a computer.
WBM
Configuration is performed through a web browser without specialist software.
Without 24 V
During USB-C configuration, an external device power supply is not required.
Wide range from 9.6 to 30 V DC
The nominal supply voltage of the transducer is 24 V DC.
The permissible voltage range is from 9.6 to 30 V DC, allowing the device to work with typical industrial power supply systems.
Maximum power consumption is 2 W at 30 V DC.
Safe isolation according to IEC/EN 61010-1
ECM-UC-100A-UI-REL provides safe isolation according to IEC/EN 61010-1.
The test voltage between input and output and between input and power supply is 4 kV AC for 60 seconds.
