ECM-UC-10A-UI-REL — universal current transducer up to 12,5 A
Phoenix Contact ECM-UC-10A-UI-REL 1698164 is a configurable measuring transducer designed for monitoring alternating, direct and distorted currents in automation systems and industrial installations.
The device supports four basic measurement ranges from 0–0,1 A to 0–10 A AC/DC, and the maximum range value can be configured up to 12,5 A AC/DC according to DIN/EN 61010-1.
Version The UI-REL combines a configurable analog voltage or current output with a relay output. This allows one unit to transmit the current measurement value to the control system and independently signal when a configured threshold is exceeded.
One module for measurement, transmission and indication
up to 12.5 A
Configurable ranges allow the transducer to be adapted to circuits with different current values.
U / I
A voltage or current output enables direct operation with standard analog inputs of automation systems.
Relay
The built-in changeover contact enables local indication when a configured current value is exceeded.
Current monitoring in automation and industrial installations
Four ranges from 100 mA to 10 A
The ECM-UC-10A-UI-REL can operate in four basic ranges: 0–0.1 A, 0–1 A, 0–5 A and 0–10 A AC/DC.
The minimum range value can be configured from 0 to 100 mA AC/DC, while the maximum setting according to DIN/EN 61010-1 is 12,5 A AC/DC.
For applications compliant with UL 61010-1, the maximum range is 10 A.
Bidirectional DC measurement
For direct current, the device enables measurement of both positive and negative current values.
The standard input range is −10…+10 A DC.
The maximum configuration according to DIN/EN 61010-1 can cover the range −12,5…+12,5 A DC, allowing current-flow direction to be determined as well.
AC, DC and non-sinusoidal signal measurement
The ECM-UC-10A-UI-REL is designed to measure AC, DC and distorted currents.
As a result, it can be used in circuits employing power-electronic equipment, controllers, converters and other loads where the current waveform differs from an ideal sine wave.
The frequency range can be adapted to a specific application.
Configurable bandwidth up to 1000 Hz
The transducer allows several measurement-frequency ranges to be selected.
Available ranges are 0–100 Hz, 0–200 Hz, 0–500 Hz and 0–1000 Hz.
This makes it possible to use the device both in conventional 50/60 Hz installations and in circuits with more complex signal characteristics.
Maximum transmission error 0.5%
The maximum transmission error of the ECM-UC-10A-UI-REL is 0,5% of the nominal range value under nominal conditions.
The maximum temperature coefficient is below 0,02%/K.
The parameters provide stable current monitoring even with changes in ambient temperature.
Response time from 20 ms
The 10–90% step response time during AC/DC measurement is 200 ms.
For DC measurement, the response time can be 20 ms.
This makes it possible to record not only steady values but also relatively fast load changes.
Resistance to range overload
The ECM-UC-10A-UI-REL has continuous overload capability of 2 × IN.
Surge withstand is 10 × IN, providing additional margin during short-term current increases.
Wide selection of standard U/I signals
The measured current value can be transmitted to the control system through a configurable voltage or current output.
Available voltage ranges include 0–10 V, 0–5 V, 1–5 V, 2–10 V, −10…+10 V and −5…+5 V.
For the current signal, available ranges are 0–20 mA and 4–20 mA, as well as reversed characteristics 20–0 mA and 20–4 mA.
One changeover contact for local indication
Version UI-REL has a relay with one AgNi alloy changeover contact.
The maximum switching voltage is 250 V AC or 48 V DC.
The permissible continuous contact current is up to 6 A at 250 V AC and up to 1 A at 48 V DC.
Additional 24 V DC signal
The device also provides a digital output signal that can be used to transmit status to the automation system.
The maximum signal voltage is 24 V DC, and the maximum output current is 100 mA.
USB-C and built-in web interface
The ECM-UC-10A-UI-REL can be configured via the USB-C port and integrated Web Based Management.
During USB-C configuration external 24 V DC power supply is not required, enabling device parameters to be prepared even before installation in the cabinet.
The default WBM interface address is 192.168.128.1.
USB-C
The standard connector enables quick connection of the device to a computer.
WBM
Parameters are configured through an interface launched in a web browser.
Without 24 V DC
For USB-C configuration, the device does not need to be powered from the installation.
Wide range from 9.6 to 30 V DC
The device can be powered in the range 9,6–30 V DC.
The nominal supply range covers 12–24 V DC with −20% / +25% tolerance.
Maximum power consumption is 2.3 W at 30 V DC.
