CELLULINK 4401-4G GL M40

CELLULINK 4401-4G GL M40 uses a modem LTE Cat.4 providing high communication throughput in industrial applications.

In the LTE-FDD network, the maximum speed is 150 Mbit/s DL and 50 Mbit/s UL. In LTE-TDD, the manufacturer specifies up to 130 Mbit/s download and 30 Mbit/s upload.

If the LTE network is unavailable, the router can use HSPA+, WCDMA, EDGE or GPRSfunction.

Designation GL specifies the global router version equipped with a wideband cellular module supporting numerous LTE, 3G and 2G bands.

According to the manufacturer, the device can be used globally, subject to local approvals and operator band availability.

CELLULINK 4401 has integrated 2×2 MIMO cellular antenna systemfunction.

Using two antenna paths supports LTE Cat.4 capabilities and avoids the need to install additional antennas and run coaxial cables between the router and antenna.

Integrating the antennas with the enclosure also reduces the number of components required during installation.

Phoenix Contact describes CELLULINK 4401 as a device equipped with the Dual SIMfunction.

The router uses the card format Nano SIM 4FF and has a built-in eSIM.

The current documentation describes the function as eSIM ready and notes that eSIM support is planned for a later firmware version.

The router has 1 shielded RJ45 10/100Base-T(X) port compliant with IEEE 802.3.

The port supports autonegotiation, and the maximum length of a shielded Twisted Pair cable is 100 mfunction.

Available protocols include TCP/IP, UDP/IP, HTTPS, IPv4, IPv6, VXLAN and GRETAP, among others.

CELLULINK 4401 supports the NAT, allowing the cellular connection to be shared with a device on the local Ethernet network.

The following function is also available: Exposed Host, enabling network traffic to be routed appropriately to a selected LAN device.

The router also supports VXLAN and GRETAP tunnels.

The integrated GNSS receiver supports the following systems: GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo and QZSSfunction.

GNSS data can be used to determine the device location and synchronise time.

The router can operate as a NTPv4 Stratum 1 server, providing synchronised time to devices on the local network.

CELLULINK 4401-4G GL M40 has product certification compliant with IEC 62443-4-2function.

The Phoenix Contact device development process is additionally certified in accordance with IEC 62443-4-1function.

The solution has therefore been designed with the cybersecurity requirements characteristic of industrial environments in mind.

Router configuration and diagnostics can be performed via web-based managementfunction.

Also available is REST API, enabling device management to be integrated with higher-level systems and software tools.

The router can be powered with 10–52 V DC via a COMBICON connectorfunction.

Alternatively, power can be supplied via the Ethernet cable as passive PoE in the range 21,6–57 V DCfunction.

CELLULINK also supports standard 15 W PoE compliant with IEEE 802.3af. The maximum power consumption of the device is below 8 W.

When correctly installed, the router has an ingress protection rating of IP66/IP69Kfunction.

Mechanical Resistance IK10, an operating temperature range from −40 to +70°C and resistance to UV radiation, enabling operation in demanding industrial environments.

Phoenix Contact also specifies resistance to salt mist in accordance with IEC 60068-2-11, vibration up to 5 g and shock up to 30 g.

The CELLULINK enclosure is made of UL94 V0 polycarbonate in light grey RAL 7035.

Device dimensions are 90 × 149 × 69 mm, and weight without packaging 368 gfunction.

The router is surface-mounted in a single hole. The mounting orientation can be arbitrary, although the manufacturer recommends pointing the connections downwards to reduce dirt accumulation.
