ECM-UC-10A-UI — configurable current transducer up to 12,5 A
Phoenix Contact ECM-UC-10A-UI 1136504 is a universal measuring transducer designed for monitoring alternating, direct and distorted currents in automation systems and industrial installations.
The device offers four basic measurement ranges from 0–0,1 A to 0–10 A AC/DC, while the maximum configurable input value can be 12,5 A AC/DC according to DIN/EN 61010-1.
Version The UI converts the measured value into a standard analog voltage or current signal. A wide selection of output ranges makes it possible to adapt the device to analog inputs of PLC controllers, I/O modules, SCADA systems and other measurement systems.
One transducer for multiple AC and DC current ranges
up to 12,5 A
Configurable ranges allow one device to be adapted to different measurement circuits.
AC / DC
The transducer supports alternating current, direct current and distorted waveforms.
U / I
Configurable voltage or current output simplifies integration with standard analog inputs.
Current monitoring in automation systems
Four basic ranges from 100 mA to 10 A
The ECM-UC-10A-UI can operate in four basic ranges: 0–0,1 A, 0–1 A, 0–5 A and 0–10 A AC/DC.
The minimum input-range value can be set from 0 to 100 mA AC/DC.
The maximum value can be configured up to 12.5 A AC/DC according to DIN/EN 61010-1. For applications compliant with UL 61010-1, the maximum range is 10 A.
Bidirectional DC current measurement
For direct current, the ECM-UC-10A-UI enables measurement of both positive and negative values.
The standard input range is −10…+10 A DC.
The maximum configurable range according to DIN/EN 61010-1 can be −12,5…+12,5 A DC, allowing the device to also represent current-flow direction.
Measurement of AC, DC and non-sinusoidal signals
The ECM-UC-10A-UI is designed for measuring alternating, direct and distorted currents.
This makes it possible to use the transducer also in circuits with power-electronic equipment, power controllers, converters and other loads where the current waveform differs from an ideal sine wave.
The configurable frequency bandwidth allows the measurement characteristic to be further adapted to a specific application.
Configurable measurement bandwidth up to 1000 Hz
Phoenix Contact allows several measurement-frequency ranges to be selected.
Available ranges are 0–100 Hz, 0–200 Hz, 0–500 Hz and 0–1000 Hz.
As a result, the device can operate both in conventional 50/60 Hz installations and in applications containing higher-frequency components.
Maximum transmission error 0,5%
The maximum transmission error of the ECM-UC-10A-UI is 0,5% of the nominal range value under nominal conditions.
The maximum temperature coefficient is less than 0,02%/K.
These parameters enable stable current monitoring even with temperature changes occurring in industrial control cabinets.
Response time from 20 ms
The 10–90% step response time during AC/DC measurement is 200 ms.
For DC measurement, the response time is 20 ms.
This makes it possible to record both steady load values and relatively fast current changes.
Resistance to measurement-range overload
The ECM-UC-10A-UI has continuous overload capability of 2 × IN.
Surge withstand is 10 × IN.
This provides additional margin during short-term current increases in the monitored circuit.
Wide selection of voltage and current signals
The measured value can be transmitted to the control system through a configurable voltage or current output.
Available voltage ranges are 0–10 V, 0–5 V, 1–5 V, 2–10 V, −10…+10 V and −5…+5 V.
The device also supports reversed characteristics 10…−10 V, 5…−5 V, 10–0 V and 5–0 V.
Standard 0–20 mA and 4–20 mA signals
The analog output can also be configured as a standard current signal.
Available characteristics are 0–20 mA and 4–20 mA, as well as reversed ranges 20–0 mA and 20–4 mA.
The maximum load resistance of the current output is below 500 Ω.
USB-C and built-in web interface
The ECM-UC-10A-UI can be configured via the USB-C interface and integrated Web Based Management.
For configuration via USB-C an external 24 V DC power supply is not required, allowing settings to be prepared even before installing the device in the cabinet.
The default WBM interface address is 192.168.128.1.
USB-C
The standard interface enables quick connection of the transducer to a computer.
WBM
Parameter configuration is performed through an interface accessible in a web browser.
Without 24 V DC
During USB-C configuration, there is no need to connect an external power supply to the transducer.
Wide 9,6–30 V DC range
The nominal supply voltage of the device is 24 V DC.
The nominal supply range covers 12–24 V DC with −20% / +25% tolerance, while the full operating range is 9,6–30 V DC.
Maximum power consumption is 2,3 W at 30 V DC.
Safe isolation according to IEC/EN 61010-1
The ECM-UC-10A-UI provides safe isolation according to IEC/EN 61010-1.
The test voltage between input and output and between input and power supply is 4 kV AC at 50 Hz for 60 seconds.
Between output and power supply, the test voltage is 2 kV AC. The overvoltage and measurement category of the device is III at 300 V.
Fast Push-in terminals
The device electrical connections are made using Push-in terminals.
Solid and flexible conductors with cross-section from 0.2 to 2.5 mm².
The recommended conductor stripping length is 10 mm.
Operation from −40 to +60°C
Compact 22,6 mm DIN-rail module
The ECM-UC-10A-UI is only 22,6 mmwide, enabling efficient use of space in the control cabinet.
Device dimensions are 22,6 × 106,7 × 113,8 mm. After mounting on an NS 35/7,5 rail, the depth is 114,5 mm.
